You are correct, I think there is controversy between the appraised value as is disclosed on some episodes v. the actual value when they are sold disclosed on other episodes. For the "Elvis newspapers", Dave Hester has only been able to sell 20 on Ebay over a six month period, see http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&_trksid=p4340.l2564&item=300530181683. Which leads people to look a possible perceived value v actual cash in hand.
