How'd you manage to crack the screen on your laptop?Stooty (talk) 15:42, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Don't leave your laptop sitting on the ground at the foot of your bed. Your weight will probably crack your screen. GrebniewNeb (talk) 15:45, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi from Dr. V
[edit]I am not able to guess who you are based on your user name. I will find out Tuesday! To complete this week's assignment, you have written on people's talk pages - good job! You also need to write a bit about what article you're interested in through a post on your user page and complete an edit of an article using a fact from the reading. Cheers! Response to Dr. V
[edit]Thank you for the reminder of the assignment. I will need to accustom myself to continually checking the Dashboard for all of our assignments. I have completed an edit for an article and brainstormed a little on my user page. See you tomorrow. -Neb
Youth in Rwanda
[edit]Your interest in creating a Youth in Rwanda wiki page will be quite informative as a result of your time spent there and I am looking forward to reading it. Something to keep in mind is that you likely have some form of emotional attachment to your time and to keep your information neutral of any stance.

Avoiding the list
[edit]Hi, GrebniewNeb - I don't like the list because it creates a disjointed article that fails to see patterns or help readers understand the larger picture. While not a perfect article, one example is Conscription. Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 18:57, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Your proposal
[edit]Hi, GrebniewNeb!
I have a good sense on what themes specific to Rwanda are important for your new article. You also demonstrate that you have looked at examples in the "Youth in" series. I look forward to reading the bibliography of sources you find to work with. As you post sources, please write a bit about what each source says and how it contributes to your potential revisions. What do you have, and what are you still looking for? Cheers, Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 02:08, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Griff, Drake University's Live Mascot in front of Old Main, Oct 2015.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Griff, Drake University's Live Mascot in front of Old Main, Oct 2015.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Source feedback from Dr. V
[edit]Hi, GrebniewNeb- In this review of your sources, I was looking for 3-5 sources total, as well as the use of scholarly sources and the incorporation of global perspectives. You did well on this assignment! You're ready to draft your article. As you write, you will probably look for additional sources (some of which I mention here). You can create a checklist of items to find information about, some of which you're done with: family structure, crime, and educational attainment. I like your incorporation of health, and am expecting to see something about youth in post-genocidal contexts. The next steps are:
- Looking at the Rwanda government's, UNICEF's and other global data sources to find basic statistics on youth
- Locating doi numbers for all sources. Formatting your references to meet WP standards (many of your peers have done this, as have the Youth in articles, so you may look to those for help.
- Creating a reference page and correct formatting of references in your sandbox
- Writing your first draft. I would love for you to get to as close to 2000 words as possible in your first draft, as you are already well on your way in terms of information located.
- Consider how you will link to other Rwanda pages in your article such as what you might find in Portal:Rwanda.
