Perfect sanity
[edit]Your spiel about your disdain for perfect sanity struck a chord with me, I was (am?) just interested to know where the quote fitting in[to]' a monochrome world, settling down, culling mad dreams was from, or was it entirely self-coined?
Thanks.

translation
[edit]Hi, this is not a genitive,
You seem motivated by this new topic !
I can suggest you another translation from a shorter but I think better article : fr:massacre de Qibya.
The only matter is that it already exists but the one here has two POV tages while the former one is also a featured article.

Interesting page
[edit]You're obviously a very busy Wikipedian. You have an amazing page. I lived in Croatia for a bit so I read a bit about the Slavic swear words. The changes in swear words between the languages belonging to the people of the former Yugoslavia can be small, but so many different ways to curse. It's just wonderful. And if I'm in Iran any time soon, I'll know when the train from Damascus will be :) Wikitoddia 08:07, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

English in the Caribbean
[edit]I'm a month late to the party, but I noticed that you said a month ago in the Language Reference Desk that English is the sole official language of "basically the entire Caribbean." Actually, only about one-fourth of the Caribbean population lives in English-speaking countries. Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, the Caribbean islands of Venezuela, the French islands and Aruba/Bonaire/Curacao do not have English as an official language, and except for the Dutch trio mentioned, most of the people in those places do not speak it. (The other Dutch islands of Saba, St. Eustatius and Sint Maartin do speak English semi-officially.) Puerto Rico is officially bilingual (being a U.S. territory), but most of its population actually consists of monolingual Spanish speakers. There are a number of officially English-speaking countries in the Caribbean, but most have tiny populations and even then, English is not necessarily the only language spoken on them; the French-based Antillean Creole is spoken on several, often as a native tongue. Qibya massacre
[edit]Hi It's is not a genitive,
I come back to you :-)
Last time I asked you if you would agree to replace Qibya massacre by a translation of fr:massacre de Qibya.
What would you think about acting a (slightly) different way : would you mind translating this on a personal work page and then ask on the article talk page what version they would chose ?
We could also merge the information from the wp:en version in the other one but I think it is already the case...
Thank you !

I need some help translating this from French to English
[edit]I saw that you are a translator on the French Translation page... I need some help translating the following letter into English. It was written by General Pulaski, while traveling to find food for the starving soldiers at Valley Forge. I know it's an inconvenience to ask you to do this, but I would very much appreciate it. If you don't have time though, I understand. Thanks.

Translation no longer necessary...
[edit]I'm just writing to tell you that I no longer need the translation. As a precaution, I asked several people listed on the French translation page to help me with the letter. Today I checked, and several people have sent me the translations or are in the process of translating them. I've been trying for several weeks to find a translator (first on myspace, which was hardly any help at all, then on wikipedia, which I must say has been more helpful). I hope in the future you would still be willing to help with translations. There are several letters from Lafayette that I cannot understand. But it may be some time before I need them.
Thanks again.
ps I was watching C-SPAN today, and was quite surprised to learn that after all these years, Pulaski may be made an honorary citizen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rochlafayette (talk • contribs) 00:20, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Cool... thanks
[edit]Thanks for offering to translate letters in the future. I'm glad to know there is someone I can turn to.
Don't worry, I don't expect people to respond quickly. I know it takes time to translate, and people have other things to do. I just tried to contact as many people as I could the other day because I wasn't sure who would respond and who wouldn't. I'm glad you're interested in helping.
Thanks. Rochlafayette (talk) 03:25, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Chatelainecover1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chatelainecover1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:23, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Greetings,
I am trying to get a team together who would finally translate "Sistema di logica come teoria del conoscere" into English. I thought Wikipedia's list of Italian-to-English translators might be a good group to 'hit up' on this subject. If personal assistance cannot be provided, perhaps suggestions or helping point me in the right direction of who might be willing to help? Best regards & thank you. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hi. This month The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There is over £3000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. Wikimedia UK is putting up £250 specifically for editors who produce the most quality new women bios for British women, with special consideration given to missing notable biographies from the Oxford Dictionary of Biography and Welsh Dictionary of Biography. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate independently this is also fine, but please add any articles created to the bottom of the main contest page even if not competing. Your participation in the contest and contributing articles on British women from your area or wherever would we much appreciated. Thanks.
