Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Juraj Križko. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:15, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Pospeak! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 389 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Juraj Križko - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks for contributing the new article Milan Lutonský. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. GiantSnowman 15:50, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Michal Škoda, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page FK Bohemians Praha (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Václav Hladký has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mohamed Traoré (French footballer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:34, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jiří Janoščin has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi Pospeak and thanks for your contributions to new articles. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miroslav Keresteš until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Brno reserve players

[edit]

Hello. I see you have restored the Brno reserve players at FC Zbrojovka Brno. Could you please explain why you think this list should be included? Hi, many professional football teams have reserve team squad included in Wiki page (e.g. AC Sparta Prague and SK Slavia Prague in Czech First League). Why I cann't do it by FC Zbrojovka Brno? In addition to this, reserve team players in the Czech Repullic can appear in A-team whenever during the season, so it's probable that any of them do it. Thanks, Pospeak

A tag has been placed on Mihailo Jovanović (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Pavel Šustr moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Pavel Šustr, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Transfermarkt is the best reliable source in terms of players`s stats. Especially in the area of Czech football, where e.g. Transfermarkt is the only website that takes relegation play-offs into consideration. I don't care if it is user-edited or not. Every website is edited by someone. I've been editing articles about Czech football players for many years and I've never had a problem with Transfermarkt. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nicolas Martinek requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. FromCzech (talk) 04:33, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There were added references and external links (Soccerway) to this newly created page. Slovak 2. liga is professional league and 70 games, that Nicolas Martinek has played, is definately notable. I refuse deleting this page. Thanks Pospeak (talk) 09:37, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Note that as it stands, the page still does not meet the WP:GNG criteria and could be deleted. That 70 matches in the second Slovak league is a very subjective criterion. In the future please ensure that objective criteria of notability are taken into account when creating a page of a player. It is counterproductive to create a page as soon as a footballer becomes a player of your favorite club. FromCzech (talk) 11:01, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I read WP:GNG rules over and over again and guess which of the points are not met. Please name one. 70 matches is not enough? How many appearances would be enough? 300? 1000? Who decides on this? So please stop torpedoing my work like you have done in the past with players like Claude Lhotecký, Vojtěch Šmid, Oldřich Pragr and others, where all od them had at least one appearance in Czech Football League. I can look for similar cases like these on Wiki and I'm sure there are dozens and no one needs to delete them. (e.g. Adam Pudil who has 26 appearances only in Czech 2. Liga)...Howgh Pospeak (talk) 11:41, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Following the WP:NSPORTS2022 global RfC, all the participation-based criteria were eliminated and the only thing that matters is GNG criteria. None of the footballers you mentioned was covered enough by media, or at least no one including you was able to prove it, and it's nothing personal against you. Feel free to nominate other players for deletion if you know of any. FromCzech (talk) 12:07, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ask again, how many appearances does a player have to have to be significant (to rule GNG criteria)? Give a number. What is "media coverage"? I ask specific questions and unfortunately I only get subjective answers. All of the players mentioned above had external links to official team page, very cited football website Soccerway and referencies from local media. If there is something of it missing, it's not problem to point it out and anyone can add sources to improve reliability. But you nominate it straingh for deletion... To the last one: Don't worry, I'm not going to finger anyone, but in French football, for example, there are a lot of players whose maximum is playing Championnat National 2 (fourth level). Pospeak (talk) 12:50, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I already wrote, the appearances criterion was abolished. An entry in a database such as Soccerway does not count as media. I nominated it for deletion because at the time the article had no references and nothing to prove his notability (as we already said, the 70 matches alone are not enough). At the moment, there is only one reference, which is at least a record from the media, but it is also not clear from the article what makes the player important (the fact that he became a Zbrojovka player does not make him notable. Nothing about his career is evident from the article, he does not even have a history in youth national teams...). As for your example: I don't know much about French football, but I assume most were created before NSPORTS2022, just like your pages. FromCzech (talk) 13:32, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you tell me, what EXACTLY should player do to be important or to have media coverage? Is there any measure? For sure there's none, it's all about (your) subjectivity. Pages of Claude Lhotecký, Vojtěch Šmid, Oldřich Pragr were created before 2022 (between 2020-2021), so why did you nominate it for deletion? Noticing that there is lack of sources would be enough... Soccerway database is widely used as a resource of appearances and goals across the world and you don't count it as a reliable source? Pospeak (talk) 11:23, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a journalist, I don't decide who appears on TV, in newspaper articles etc. But the better clubs and competitions a player plays in and the longer he plays in them, the more he appears in the media. NSPORT2022 is applied to all articles regardless of the time of their creation. It prevents the creation of new pages that do not meet the criteria and it is a base to delete all unimportant players created earlier. Wiki is an encyclopedia, not a database.
Nothing is about my subjectivity, the deletion of each proposal was accompanied by discussions in which a consensus was reached. Look for example on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oldřich Pragr. I didn't even nominate him. Noticing that there is lack of sources is fine when the sources exist, just are not used, not when there aren't any.
Soccerway is a reliable source, but it is a database (and therefore contains all players regardless of their importance) and is therefore not counted among the media. FromCzech (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't have an answer to the question of what media and how often does a player have to be in order to be notable? If you can't answer that for me, subjective evaluation has to come in... How can you say that there were no references in the deleted pages? How did you know that there exist no references? Did you search the internet?
If NSPORT2022 (a huge stupidity in my opinion) applies retroactively, it means deleting thousands to tens of thousands of entries and trampling on the work of a lot of encyclopedists who do it in their spare time. I think it's better to put your efforts in another direction... Pospeak (talk) 12:35, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

Hi, this is the third time you added a red link to Adam Kronus in FC Zbrojovka Brno within 12 days. Your actions, in combination with the complete non-use of the edit summary for communication and ignoring what I wrote in my edit summaries, is clearly edit warring. Please start behaving appropriately. FromCzech (talk) 12:41, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's funny when you delete the red link before I can create the page. I managed to do it now and the page was created including the references. Calm down... Pospeak (talk) 12:47, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First you have to create the page, then you can add the link. This is no excuse for not filling out the edit summary or edit warring. FromCzech (talk) 12:58, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Since I find your criticism pointless, you forced me to search the Wiki rules. So according WP:WRITEITFIRST: "...If such an entry links to an article that does not exist, the result is a red link like this one. When the editor goes on to create the new article, the red link in the list turns blue, and assuming the article follows Wikipedia's practices (such as notability, verifiability, and other relevant policies and guidelines), everything is fine. End of citation. Can you tell me something about it? It took me a few minutes to create the article, which wouldn't be a problem if you didn't need to delete something right away.
Pospeak (talk) 13:26, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just put it in parentheses as a BTW so I don't understand you now. You are not responding in any way to what I wrote in this discussion. And just by the way, you already started his page, but did you really prove his notability? I don't think so. Looks like another example of WP:TOOEARLY. Why don't you wait a few seasons to see if he became notable footballer or not? FromCzech (talk) 13:44, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't understand you. I added the red link and before I could create the page you had nothing better to do than point out the red link. Which is weird, but it says a lot about your work. We have different views on who is notable, but I am convinced that a start in the most watched sports competition in the world is definitely notable Pospeak (talk) 17:16, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You added the link on 4 August and on 15 August, but you only started the page today. 12 days is a long time, and as I wrote, you don't need a link to create a page, so that's a lame excuse. You are also generally known for linking not-notable footballers and starting their pages, as evidenced by the list of those that were deleted by consensus, so I had every right to delete the link. Also, and sorry to repeat myself, you didn't bother to communicate via Edit summary and instead wanted to edit warring. Think about it before you start making personal attacks.
Btw 5 minutes in Champions League is not success that would make you notable per WP:SPORTBASIC. It's not that your view of notability differs from mine; the point is that your view and the Wiki community's view are different. FromCzech (talk) 18:23, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No edit war would be needed if you didn't need to attack the red link I created. BTW, on June 9, 2023, user "Rest in pieces" made a change to the head coach of Zbrojovka Luděk Klusáček and added a red link to him. Since no one has made his page yet (a chance for you), the red link has been lit for 2 months. And no one (including me and you) cares. What about the other thousands of red links that are created in different areas, but the articles don't exist yet. Should I take it personally? Why are you starting an edit war only against me? You probably don't watch much football, otherwise you wouldn't be able to write such nonsense about starting in the Champions League. Pospeak (talk) 06:02, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
