Sorry/Thanks

Hey User:Tholden28. I wanted to apologize for asking you to find another source about Cotler's announcement he wouldn't run again. I had not heard this new development, and the last I had heard, he was intending to run again, at least that's what was assumed in the uproar over the polling calls in his riding. Perhaps I may have let my own personal politics cause a knee-jerk reaction to the edit, and for that, I'm sorry.

Quebec election

Just a reminder to wait until the media have declared somebody elected. Manon Massé has an extremely narrow lead right now, but with two boxes still out — and guess what those boxes are? the advance vote — it's not at all safe for us to assume she's going to win yet. We don't make our own predictions by looking at who's in the lead at some indeterminate point in time; we wait until an external source has declared them the victor. 41st Manitoba general election infobox

Hi Tholden28. Rather than revert, I'm just wondering what the justification is for adding the Green Party of Manitoba to the infobox for 41st Manitoba general election, being that it wasn't done for past elections. It is a little premature to have an article for a season that has not started. Maybe when it is sooner then it can be created, but right now there seems to be no notable information. Regarding your recent dispute about the "assumed office" date on Arnold Chan, I just wanted to confirm that your understanding is correct — we do indeed use the date of the election or byelection itself, since that's the date that Parliament's website gives. But I just wanted to let you know that if you ever get involved in a similar dispute again, you don't need to rely on the purely anecdotal evidence of what we did for John Dahmer — there's actually an explicit consensus statement, already written at Wikipedia:CANSTYLE#Terms in office, which completely backs you up on it. Future Canadian Ridings

Hi. It looks like you created a number of articles for the future Canadian ridings (including University—Rosedale). I wonder as to why you would use "—" vs. "-" (em-dash vs. regular dash) in the name of the new ridings? I recognize the fact that Elections Canada report seems to be using em-dashes as well. But I feel it is somehow a violation of WP:TSC or general English rules for em-dash. What do you think? --Truther2012 (talk) 21:04, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

I just wonder the colour representing Forces et Démocratie

On the twenty-third of October, Mr. Fortin spoke the first time as the leader of Forces et Démocratie around 10:45am about the happened attack in Ottawa. That's also the first time the colour of his renewed "MP box" (you know, every time a MP speak, there's a box showing his/her name, the riding he/she represent also the party he/she belongs) revealed and it sort of green. Sorry for a late reply however I think there is a more specific proof what is the colour Forces et Démocratie chose. See the official seating plan of the house of commons of Canada. I personally believe that the colour representing Forces et Démocratie should be green (is it MediumSeaGreen #3CB371 ?) since it was adopted by the hoc. Thanks of your speedy reply. Well, I'm kind of puzzled if you say so. The colour of a party's logo may vary (I mean the accurate HEX) and how about those independent members? I think we should follow the hoc because the parliament have to get the approval from the party to use certain colour and it is the best way to know what one's party have decided their official colour beside informing the party directly.Merci—An Macanese 17:51, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Glenn Thibeault

Regarding your edits about Thibeault being an independent when he resigned. I too saw it on his Parliament bio, but without it appearing on the Parliament standings, and third party coverage, it could just be a website glitch or error. 42nd By-elections Re: Mauril

Hey Tholden28!

Thanks for your edit on By-elections to the 42nd Canadian Parliament. I definitely understand your logic in removing the hidden section about Ottawa-Vanier, but I wanted to discuss it nevertheless. With M. Belanger's ALS further progressing, if he hasn't given the indication he will resign, I assumed he would end up dying in office and that we should be prepared for that eventuality.

I noticed you recently added Maslany's denial. It was reverted. I recently added it as well and it was reverted. I don't know how many other times this has happened. However, there is a discussion about this on the talk page and oddly enough I am the only one who has advocated for her denial to be included. Even after three of us agreed on his this could be included it was reverted again. The other editors are adamant about keeping it off. They have an understandable argument. Cut-and-paste move

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.
