Function details: Change "language=[Pp]ortguese" -> Change "[Pp]ort(gu|ug)ese" and "[Pp]ortug(?:u?e+u|e*)se" inside of "language=" to "language=Portuguese" inside citation templates using AWB's find and replace tool. There are several hundred pages that use said misspelling variantsmisspelling "Portguese" inside citation templates and they need to be fixed.
In regards to Wikipedia:Bots/Frequently denied bots#Fully_automatic_spell-checking_bots, I will be running this bot supervised and the bot will only be changing the word "Portguese" inside templates and thus, things like "non-standard spellings are intended (for example quotes)" will not be an issue. -- Cheers, Riley 02:35, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]- Because it is a single word inside a template being typo fixed, it disqualifies this request from being procedurally declined. Since it's a simple search and replace task, I see no issues. Though, I have one question, is the regex restricted only to Portguese, or can it pickup u e flip-flops as well?—cyberpower ChatOffline 16:09, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I have now listed the regex that will be used above (for the word anyways). In answer to your question, it will pick up the pick up some flip-flops. -- Cheers, Riley 22:32, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- You may want to look at the two typo rules for "Portuguese" at WP:AWB/Typos so your bot can fix many different variations. GoingBatty (talk) 16:23, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Requested those variants aswell, thanks. -- Cheers, Riley 16:58, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Trial complete. [1] - Please ignore the intervals between edits, I was multi-tasking when running this trial and it was in semi-auto mode (had to press save every time) -- Cheers, Riley 01:15, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
