Like most WikiProjects, we use templates to simplify and standardize the tasks and procedures our participants are most likely to encounter.

Article talk pages

• {{WikiProject Schools}} is for all articles that are part of this WikiProject. This adds the article to the appropriate categories affiliated with the Project. Please add this to the talk page of a school article you have created by adding {{WikiProject Schools|class=|importance=}}.
  • We'll be along shortly to add the assessments.
  • If you come across a school article talk page that doesn't yet have one, please add it. Remember to complete the edit summary field.

• To request a photograph for an article, add {{Reqphoto|of=this school}}.

User pages

• {{User WikiProject Schools}} is for Wikipedians who want to place a userbox on their page.

User talk pages

• {{subst:WPSchools invite}} can be placed on the talk pages of those that make multiple contributions to school-related articles, inviting them to join the project.

• {{subst:WPSchools new member welcome}} is a template to place on the talk page of a new project member to thank them for joining.

• {{subst:First school article}} (not shown) can be used instead of a general Wikipedia welcome template like the one above. It combines a welcome message with important advice to editors who have created a new school article that might need some urgent help and attention.

• {{subst:Schools Barnstar}} is an award for exceptional service to the project; add it as shown to the talk page of the user you wish to award it to. The Schools Barnstar is designed to recognize any editor for their efforts to improve and develop school and school related articles, including their contributions to education articles, and for special development of this project. Article maintenance templates

• {{subst:Cleanup school}} is for articles that need cleanup and/or considerable work. Include any specific areas or issues to focus on using the |reason= parameter, if you wish. Substituting this template dates it with the current month and year.

• {{subst:Merge school}} is for articles that need to be merged to their subject's respective school district or locality article. Identify the article to be merged to as follows: {{subst:merge school|merge target}}. If you are uncertain as to which article should be the merge target, the template call can be made without a target, using only the date parameter, and a more experienced editor will make that determination later. Substituting this template dates it with the current month and year.
