Ari Banias was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Hunter College, where he was a teaching fellow. He’s the author of a chapbook, What’s Personal is Being Here With All of You (Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs, 2012), and his poems have appeared in various publications, including Aufgabe, FIELD, Gulf Coast, Poetry Northwest, The Volta, and Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics (Nightboat, 2013).
