Quinn
I’d say I’m down on my luck, but that’s an understatement. I’m flat on my ass. Homeless, hungry and in hiding with my little sister at the age of twenty-one, I’ve never been so desperate. I’ve hit rock bottom when I get an offer I can’t refuse. Sell my body to save my sister? There’s nothing I won’t do to keep her safe. I make the rules and I’m not afraid to defend myself if this rich guy crosses the line. But once I see beneath his cold, calculating façade, the lines aren’t so clear anymore.

Andrew
She’s an intoxicating mix of tough and vulnerable I’ve never known before. This homeless woman who fits right into my upper-class world is running from someone powerful, and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her. But Quinn isn’t meant to be controlled, so I’m forced to choose between owning her and loving her. I’ve finally met my match, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make her truly mine.

You all think you would say no. Wouldn't sleep with someone for $500 and a night in a hotel for your sister. And a long time ago Quinn would have thought she would stick to her morals too. But now she's cold, hungry, and needs to take care of her younger sister. So when she's propositioned to sleep with a wealthy man, she accepts. And her life changes from there.

It was supposed to be one night, sex and that's all. But when Andrew met the mysterious Quinn, he wanted to get to know her. Not just in bed, but every secret she seems to be keeping. So his offer went from a one night deal, to a six month one. All she has to do is agree to stay with him, get to know him, and not fall in love with him. Easy, right?

Quinn and Andrew are both survivors in their own way. Both going through traumatic events that set the course for how their life will be. The amazing thing about them is that they both fought for their life to be better. Admittedly, Andrew was having a much easier time in life when he met Quinn, but he was surviving in his own way after a tragedy changed his life. I loved that about both of these characters, they never gave up. They would get knocked down and stand right back up without hesitation, and I couldn't not admire that about them.

I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and finding out all their secrets. There were questions that I had throughout most of the story and it kept me very intrigued as I was reading. Quinn and Andrew were a great couple, and I liked how there relationship was kind of slow moving, while at the same time there was a lot going on in the story that kept it interesting. And when they finally got together, I fell in love with them ten times more.

Bottom line, Quinn and Andrew have a relationship that you do not want to miss out on reading about. They both had a hidden depth to their character that you had to read until the end to figure out fully, and it will keep you captivated with them. Their story is highly recommended by me.

THREE TELL ME YOUR SECRET STARS.

"The fire burning inside of me will never go out."

It's no secret that Brenda Rothert is a wizard with the written word, and it comes as no surprise that she's also at the top of my list for authors that I'll always be happy to read. So when I was given the chance to read and review this authors latest release I was one happy reader. 'His' is a tale of opposites attract in this latest romantic suspense novel.

What's it all about?
A homeless heroine mets a tortured businessman in this latest by Brenda Rothert. After an offer she cant refuse is put on the table for this books heroine, the reader is then thrown into a tale of secrets, heartache and love. Be prepared for twists and unexpected sweetness as Andrew and Quinn find their way to true love.

description

What did I love?
The book had an originality about it that I could admire, it was refreshing to read a novel that the author has obviously believed in. 'His' was host to a likeable, endearing heroine coupled with an aptly broken, alpha hero whom was completely loveable.
With a winsome ending, and a couple that you could champion for throughout the story overall, Rothert created a great plot for most readers to fall into like with.

Why not five?
Simply said I needed more, I loved the originality of this novel but it all felt a little rushed, a few more chapters and added scenes and I think I would have been more convinced. I wanted to believe this couples connection but it fell somewhat flat. There's no doubting that this authors work is always at a high standard but I needed something more to keep me hooked on this plot. It's unusual for my reading tastes, but I craved some more drama and suspense toward the end of the book to add some excitement to the story telling. However, overall I liked this book and enjoyed my time spent with this original set up.

Final thoughts ...
Brenda Rothert is an author that you must have on your 'to be read' list her books are always creatively developed and some of my favourite series have come from said author. 'His' is a likeable romantic suspense with lots to hang your hat on, this time around I wasn't won over completely but that's not to say that this book won't be your next favourite. I know for sure that this hero will be winning readers hearts all over the place. Give it a try and make sure to come back and let me know what you thought. Enjoy ... Kisses.

Who doesn't love a rag to riches story? Or even a Cinderella story, complete with a fairy tale ending. His by Brenda Rothert is exactly that, although Quinn isn't as helpless as our Cinderella was.

Quinn lives on the streets with her little sister, Bethy. They've been on the streets for years dodging danger at every turn, scavenging for food from dumpsters but at least they were safe from the very real danger they escaped from back home. But their luck has finally run out. Quinn isn't so sure she can look after her sister anymore, her sister is sick and needs a doctor. But they can't risk being found so they have to stay hidden. Until Andrew comes into Quinn's life, her very own knight in shining armor, or better yet her Prince Charming.

For the most part I really enjoyed this story, and had it not been for a couple of problems (persistent ones) I would have given it a solid 4 star rating. I'm trying not to seem overly negative, but the things that hindered my enjoyment of this story were the pacing. I felt like the story was slow to start, well actually it was slow in general. But at the end, when it came to wrapping everything up the it seemed very rushed. Secondly Quinn's character seemed unreasonable and very accusatory while still being able to act entitled. I don't want to spoil but I felt like the hero was willing to bend over backwards for her, to his own detriment and I feel that if she felt as strongly as he did for him she would've never allowed him to make some of the sacrifices he did for her. There was a lot of taking but not much giving at the end of the day.

Quinn and Andrew's secrets were over hyped in my opinion, so when I found out what they were, it all felt a bit anti-climactic. This book was a okay, it was just missing some of that spark I look for in an outstanding book.

Overall Opinion: This was just ok for me. I just wanted...more. I felt like we didn't get deeply into the characters or even the storyline. It felt like I was waiting for that "more" throughout the story. I didn't hate it and it wasn't bad per se, but I didn't love it either. Just middle of the road and kind of meh *shrugs*.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Quinn and Andrew's story. Quinn is living on the streets with her little sister and they are hiding from someone. One day, she is propositioned for a night with Andrew. They meet, and he extends the offer with her moving in with him. This is Quinn's chance at really providing for her sister, so she takes it. There is some dancing around each other, a little family drama, a few sexy times, and some major secrets revealed...but they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Quinn and Andrew's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end. I felt like everything just was too easily cleaned up, and it felt a little abrupt in that there were still unanswered questions. Otherwise, I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, I felt like they had sufficient time to develop feelings.

H rating: 3 stars. Andrew. He was ok. I though he was sweet for his patience with the h, but I just was kind of apathetic towards him.

h rating: 3 stars. Quinn. She was ok. Her "I have a knife" mentality for the first half of the book seemed way overdone and even naive when dealing with multiple people or men that were twice her size.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Moderate/low. They have pretty good chemistry and scenes, but there aren't that many of them and they take a while to be intimate.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes. Mentions of std testing and birth control. .

OW/OM drama: Not really

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation:Yes, but really short

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had ok closure, but there were a lot of unanswered questions. I wanted more for the couple as well .

How I got it: I paid the $3.99 on Amazon for it.

Safety: I'd say this is probably Safe for most readers.

How far will you go to protect your sister? Will you be able to steal? Lie? Sell your body? In Brenda Rothert’s latest new release, His, Brenda brings forth these question into light. When it comes to surviving and having food in the stomach, can a young woman sell her body for $500 for one night? But what happens when one night is not enough and he offers you safety, a home, money, and protection as long as you become his?

Homeless. Cold. Hungry. And then toss in the fact, that Quinn and her sister are living on the streets and are on the run. They don’t want to be found. And in desperate need for money in order to survive, Quinn agrees to one night with a stranger.

photo e3217683d8d186e1d56fc9210b4e18_zpsfgz6cbor.gif “Quinn broke down my walls, and I never want to put them back up”

When Quinn appears, Andrew is immediately drawn to Quinn’s beauty, innocence, and personality. You could say a broken person could recognize another broken person. And for the first time, Andrew wants to be more than just a one night stand for Quinn as he gets to know her. He knows that she is hiding and running for something and so he makes her another offer. An offer to stay with him and be with him. When he Quinn accepts the money in order to help her sister, Quinn begins to see Andrew in a whole new light. This enigma of a man is more than his looks and wealth, and soon Quinn begins to slowly crack Andrew’s armor.

#His1

As Quinn and Andrew begin to spend more time with each other, their past and secrets begins to be slowly unpeeled. Layers of truth and raw vulnerability begins to get exposed. And soon deep feelings for one another begins to surface. But what happens when this was suppose to be only temporary, can Quinn trust Andrew and give her heart to him? Will Quinn let Andrew protect her once he discovers why she is on the run?

photo e3217683d8d186e1d56fc9210b4e18_zpsfgz6cbor.gif “I’ve gone from my lowest point to my highest in a matter of months. From feeling forlorn about the future to feeling hopeful about it. My Prince Charming isn’t always sweet, and he’s still learning how to love. But he’s mine, I’m his, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Brenda Rothert tackles a modern version of Pretty Woman with a deeper poignant, raw, and gritty emotional storyline. Ms. Rothert allows her readers to feel for her characters as she stripped them bare allowing readers to see that two broken individuals can find the love that they have been searching for. With Rothert’s emotional and touching story line, she flawlessly brings these characters to life highlighting every mistake, imperfections, vulnerability, and most importantly how far will one go to sacrifice for love. So if you are looking for a story where two broken people in a city of millions get their fairy tale ending that they truly deserves, then be prepared to get swept away and become His.

I was actually very pleased with this ,as everyone would put it, a "modern cindarella" story...

But i liked it, it wasn't sappy or mushy (God knows, i steer clear from that.. lol), it was done with style, a dose of mystery and suspense...

and it worked as a perfect little treat!

This was a great romance between a protective homeless heroine and a rich protective hero.

This book reminded me a lot of Shrouded in Blackness (The Blackness, #3) by Norma Jeanne Karlsson which I loved.

•Loved Anna
•The H was very patient with the h as she was a virgin

I liked this book, a lot. This is definitely modern day Cinderella done right, and I loved every second of it! I’m a fan of Brenda’s hockey books, love all of them. So I immediately jumped on the chance to read and review this one, not to mention the blurb sounded amazing.

This is mostly a story about survival, and how far would you go to survive and protect your family. What would you be willing to do? Quinn ran away from her home 4 years before in order to save herself, and her little sister from a horrible situation. She feels like she has no choice and she’s been living in the streets since then. Andrew is a New York businessman with a lot of deep issues, his childhood came to halt when his dad died in 9/11 and he has become a shell of the happy teenager he used to be. Andrew has some very particular tastes, has no intention of ever falling in love, but one day his path crosses with Quinn and everything changes. Quinn can give as much as she can take and Andrew finds that very exciting and intriguing. Andrew makes Quinn a proposition that she can’t refuse and the story goes from there.

I loved Quinn, a lot. I have a thing for badass heroines and she’s as good as they come. She’s independent, fierce, and fearless and would give her life in order to protect her little sister. It was amazing to experience how her life changed and how much she deserved a break in life.

“I don’t belong here, in the arms of a rich man who graduated from MIT. I’m a high school dropout. I used to climb around in Dumpsters and eat garbage.”

And Andrew, well he was an amazing guy. He treats Quinn amazingly and also respects her greatly, which I loved. He lived a life amassing wealth and guarding himself from everything and everyone, until Quinn. Quinn was that thing he never saw coming but that changed his life for the better.

“You’re the most amazing woman I’ve ever been with,” I say, brushing the hair back from her face. “Don’t ever doubt yourself. You’re a survivor.”

I definitely felt the chemistry between both characters and definitely believe they deserved each other and all the happiness in the world. I loved watching their relationship slowly develop and in the end, they both “saved” each other.

“You know, I thought I was saving you from a life on the streets,”…“but it was you who saved me.”

“I’m a modern-day Cinderella. I think we should take turns saving each other.”

Overall, I think this is a strong read, the plot is incredible and it’s full of twists and turns right until the very end. His, is a standalone novel and it's told in dual POV. I can’t say that there’s anything I disliked about the book, at all. I loved both characters. I felt like there was still something missing, the ending felt rushed, everything wrapped up nicely and in the end I still had some unanswered questions, or perhaps I just needed more. Regardless, this book is pretty awesome and I totally recommend!

“After my father died, I started fighting because of the hate inside me. But I realize now that love is the only thing that’s really worth fighting for. Quinn broke down my walls, and I never want to put them back up.”

This didn't really work for me - I liked the first half of the book and was cruising for an easy 4 star read, then I'm not really sure what went awry but from the halfway mark nothing much happened. I got bored and fed up waiting for her big reveal as to why she was on the run. This didn't happen till around 85% and it was done with so quick I blinked and almost missed it. Too little, way too late.

The wrap up of the bad guys was so anti-climatic, and I was left scratching my head. Uh wutt?? What happened to Dawson? That plot line, a major one I might add, fizzled to nothing and I'm still none the wiser!

This saddens me because the blurb reeled me right in. I love a good old woman-on-the-run story, throw in a rags to riches heroine who went to the school of Hard Knocks and I'm in my element. Not so much with His.

I swear if Cinderella had a modern version story then this would be it!! LOL

The story starts with Quinn living on the streets with her sister (Bethy) and a friend called “Bean” who she met on the streets. Quinn and her sister are homeless, escaping from their step dad, too afraid to even go ask for help as Bethy is still underage. What I loved about Quinn is her fieriness and the love she has for her sister!

Moving on to the ‘Prince Charming’ Andrew, I feel like everyone would fall head over heels for him. He was too perfect to be real!! He stood by Quinn while his own mother showed no love to her, he looked after her, payed her and never pressured her into doing anything. I just love him so much!

Overall this story was totally predictable but I enjoyed it, sometimes you need a sweet story after reading a dark one!

I’ve read some amazing reviews about Brenda Rothert’s books. I own a few of her books and I’ve been wanting to read one of them for a while. I loved the sound of this book. I wondered how the homeless woman will meet the rich man. I loved His and it definitely won’t be my last read by this author.

Quinn and her little sister ran away from someone a few years ago. They have been living on the street since, because they need to hide. It’s not easy, but they are together and alive. Quinn is having a little break down when a man stops next to her and has proposition for her. She will get some money in exchange for one night with the man’s boss and that’s how Quinn meets Andrew. Andrew likes Quinn immediately and he has even a better proposition for her.

Quinn and Andrew are great characters. Quinn is so strong, brave and loving. She’s a little hopeless at the beginning, but she never gives up. She’s also very protective over her little sister. She would do anything for her. Her sister is the most important person in her life. Quinn is attracted to Andrew, but she tries to keep her distant from him because he’s not like her. She slowly starts to like Andrew and will trust him.

Andrew is rich, successful, closed off, controlling and a little mysterious. He has his reasons for offering women money for one night. He changes when Quinn moves in with him. He wants to make her feel good. He never gives up on her and he’s a patient man. I felt for Andrew in the prologue and what happened there affected his life. It was obvious that he’s hiding something and I never guessed what.

4.5 "Midas Touch" Stars

Great story! Grabs you right from the start and carries you through the duration of the book. It leaves you smiling with that happy, satisfied feeling by the end of the Epilogue.

The relationship of Quinn & Andrew was well told. In the beginning they thought they had virtually nothing in common but through their unexpected growing friendship, they find out they share more in common than they first thought. Both are broken and lonely. They each have secrets to keep but hers drove me nuts because she wouldn't trust him enough to let him help her and her sister. It just went on for too long I thought. They've got fabulous chemistry together. Super protective of one another, him moreso than her, naturally. He had the whole possessive alpha thing going on. She was a tough little badass though (learned from being on the streets).

The suspense was almost constant, which I loved. A few good action parts also. Living homeless is both dangerous and instills hopelessness. It's described here in heartbreakingly, vivid detail as was also living the extravagant & luxurious high life of the rich and powerful.

I would really love a book for her sister, Bethy. She played a large part as a secondary character in the story, so I obviously want to know how her life turns out. Since she's only fifteen, I'd like her book to start maybe when she's eighteen or so. Wishful thinking here!

Meh. It started out really good but the big secret the H/h were hiding was so anticlimactic. It was so bad I just couldn't believe all that buildup led to that big reveal. Also, the scene with Paul was just so random it felt like the author just wanted to throw it in there at the last minute to wrap things up.

I tend to add books to my tbr at an alarming rate. I'm honestly not sure if I will ever manage to read them all (though I do make a valiant effort.) I also tend to forget what drew me to a book, but trust that if it's in my tbr, then I wanted to read it for a reason. So, as in this case, I go into books blind quite frequently. I had no idea what to expect and this is one of those times that turned out particularly well.
I actually Loved this book. I loved Andrew. I loved Quinn. I loved Bethy and Anna. And Jim. I adored that the rough edges of these characters kept this really sweet story from being too sticky. The suspense was just right. There was some heavy stuff, but it wasn't written to bog you down. And there was some stuff towards the end there that got me kinda choked up in that longing sort of way that I love so much.
But, seriously, Quinn? She may just be at the top of my kick-ass-heroine list, because she is the bomb.

"Sometimes surviving is exhausting."

I was already a Brenda Rothert fan when I started reading this book. I've especially enjoyed her #HockeyHotties. But this one...it's just...wow. She drew me in with broken characters that had big secrets. She teased me with the mystery of what Quinn was running from. She had me biting my nails, waiting for the past to catch up with her at any second. Surely it would happen on the very next page I turned, right?

And then, there's Andrew...sigh. He's a no-nonsense bossy, brilliant, badass who likes to take life by the balls and squeeze. He doesn't have time for relationships, he just wants sex without all the complications. Why not just pay for what he wants and avoid all the hassles of the expectations he has no desire to deal with? At least that's the plan, until he sees her. What's he supposed to do when he becomes the one on the receiving end? When she doesn't want him. That's never happened to him before. Of course that just makes her even more desirable. And of course that makes it even more exciting for the reader as the sexual tension builds and we wait for it to happen. And trust me, it's worth the wait (wink-wink).

His is a heartbreaking story that opened my heart and my eyes to things I might not have considered previously. I found myself drawn to Quinn, mentally encouraging her as she struggled with the weight of her burden. I was awed by her strength and selflessness as she fought for survival. She is feisty and determined and funny without even trying. She gave Andrew a lot more than he ever expected and it was amusing to see her knock the wind out of his sails.

That's all you get, you need to one-click and read it for yourself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's an amazing story that will stay with you long after you read the last page.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it certainly won't be the last.
Aged sixteen Quinn leaves home taking her eleven year old sister Bethy with her, for more than four long years they've survived on the streets of New York but things are getting desperate Bethy is not well and they have to stay under the radar for two more years until she's eighteen, Quinn's not sure how they'll make it that long and needs money fast. Her only option seems to be to lift a wallet but the risks are high, instead finds herself faced with an offer she can't refuse:
".....And then you’d spend a mutually enjoyable evening having consensual sex with a man I think you’d like.”
"The pay is five hundred dollars up front.”
"I’d put you up in a hotel for an afternoon so you could get ready, and I’d provide clothes for you.”
Now I have to say this bit is a little far-fetched,
'It’s obvious I’m homeless. I smell and I’m wearing rags' so it's a bit of a stretch to think someone would make her this offer but just go with it, I did and loved it.
Andrew is the rich man in question, he has his reasons for doing this and it's worked well for him until now but Quinn, there's something about her he finds so alluring and he can't stay away she's unlike any woman he's ever met and so he offers her a six month deal.
Quinn is guarded and secretive after all it's not just her but her sister she's looking out for and it takes most of the book before she trusts Andrew and us enough to fully confide in.
I really enjoyed this book, I liked both Quinn and Andrew and I loved them together.
Only problem I had really was I wanted more, a couple more chapters would have been great.

I'm at a loss for words to explain why without giving away the story. Except - Read this book.

Quinn and Andrew are what I want in characters for a non-stop read. Quinn is strong. She's motivated. She knows what she needs in the relationship with Andrew and stays strong throughout the story without wavering. Andrew's request for the neat and tidy relationship he's had in the past is turned on its head. And it's Andrew's quiet, steady perseverance that the terms of agreement can always be revamped. But there are secrets.

I hate secrets. I always want to know. That's why it took me less than 24 hours to read. The first 60% of the story deals with Quinn and Andrew finding their footing. Then all the sudden, the storyline picks up pace where one secret after another is revealed. You are rooting for the HEA that all the characters in the story deserve.

This is not my first Brenda Rothert book and won't be my last. However, I will state without a doubt it's my favorite. It's definitely a standalone where you feel completely satisfied at the end. 5 out of 5 stars.

WOW! Okay I started HIS after the kiddos were down and I finished it at 3 am. I could not put this book down for the life of me. That is how much this story totally captivated my attention from the beginning until the end. Brenda Rothert is seriously one of my favorite authors – I read her book Blown Away for the first time and I was obsessed with her writing since.

I really like the heroine Quinn – she is strong and such a badass. Quinn escaped with her younger sister from a desperate and horrifying situation. At the time, they were both minors and she had no choice but to run away or be badly hurt. Quinn and her sister live on the street of New York for four years scavenging for food from dumpsters. Quinn has to learn to fend for herself and her sister the best way she knows how. For such a young person, she has a big chip on her shoulders and it really broke my heart to see what they both went through - desperate for food and warm shelter but a break never came… Until… she met Andrew.

Andrew had been burned once before and he vowed to stay away from attachments and commitment. Andrew is smart and driven. He is well off, owns his own company but lives modestly in a warehouse. Andrew’s outlet is meaningless hook ups and proposition women. Andrew is strong, he commands attention and expects nothing but perfection from his staff; but deep down Andrew has fears, insecurity and secrets of his own. After one night with Quinn, Andrew was intrigued by her strength and tenacity – he wanted to know more. Will Andrew finally be the one who saves Quinn or will she be the one that saves him?

This book is really well-written. I was really drawn to the characters and the plot. I understand each character and their actions. What Quinn did to some might not be as commendable but she has her reasons and I understood that. Desperate situations call for desperate measures. I also love the hero. He appears tough but has such a big heart. He has been through tough times in the past that cause him a lot of pain and that really shaped who he is now. I enjoyed the banters between Andrew and Quinn – they are both stubborn and tough and that makes for very entertaining dialogues. I also like that the relationship buildup was slower – it’s more realistic to me. However, once things heat up the chemistry between Andrew and Quinn is quite sizzling and scorching hot. The only thing I felt a little disconnect with was Bean. I was saddened by the fall out – I thought it was quick; Secretly I was hoping he has a good life as well since he was loyal and protective of the sisters for so long. I love the ending and the epilogue of course – it’s very Pretty Woman-ish Perfect ending to a wonderful book. This book has got a little bit of everything, - angst, love, suspense… heart-wrenching at times. It’s about making sacrifice, hope and survival despite the desperate situation. What fantastic love story!!!! HIS is definitely my new favorite of Brenda Rothert. Can’t wait to read more of her books in the future.

4.5 Fabulous Stars

His By Brenda Rothert photo His Teaser 1_zpsrpr0f4ba.png

I first fell in love with Brenda Rothert’s writing several years ago the moment I picked up Bound. I absolutely love her writing style and love the stories she creates. I have to say that Him was no different than. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book and must say I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a great mix of suspense and angst, sweet and at times funny but also a bit heartbreaking.

Quinn and her sister Bethy have been living on the street for four years now and they plan to lay low for another 2 years when they will both be legal adults and no one can make them go back. They are running from something or someone but Quinn’s reasons are kept a secret, the less that know the better. Andrew Wentworth keeps most people at arms length and to keep things simple, he has his assistant Dawson find women for him and he pays them for one night of pleasure. Dawson finds Quinn and makes her an offer she can’t refuse, $500 for one night with Andrew, enough money to feed her and her sister for weeks. But there is something different about Quinn and he makes her a long term offer. She hates to be separated from her sister for 6 months but she agrees to in order to keep Bethy safe, warm and fed. Although there is more to Andrew that most don’t know and he too has his own big book of secrets.

I absolutely loved Quinn’s character. She came from a good life, a life where her family had money but it seems her life began to change after her fathers death and hers and her sister’s safety was threatened so she takes her sister on the run and to live off the streets. To go from never wanting for anything to having to sleep in the cold and scrounge for food, takes guts and strength and I truly admired that about her. She put her sister’s safety first and foremost ALWAYS. She was tough and independent and was able to protect herself and her sister but under that entire hard exterior, she was sweet and caring and had a huge heart once she let her walls down.

I must say Andrew came off a bit cold and calculating at first, but the circumstances of losing his father and the changes over the years in his mother made him that way. As the story progressed though, I couldn’t help falling in love with his character. He was kind and caring and his cold demeanor melted away when he was with Quinn. I loved that as time went on Quinn brought out more and more of the real Andrew. He was a protector, and would do anything for those that he loved and cared about.

I really loved the storyline of Him, it was different but at the same time had a bit of the “Pretty Woman”/ “Cinderella” feel to it. I loved that Andrew became Quinn’s white knight in shining armour. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between Quinn and Andrew. Although you could quickly see more developing between these two, the author didn’t rush things with their relationship. Instead she slowly built things between them and I really enjoyed getting to see so many scenes of them spending time together watching the relationship between them slowly grow. And when these two finally come fully together and make things happen, it is definitely off the charts hot. I really loved that was more two them and their relationship than sex and that their relationship and trust in each other was built up before things really heated up between them.

Overall this was another fabulous read by Brenda Rotherts that I absolutely loved. I’ve pretty much read it in less than 24 hours as she sucked me in immediately and I couldn’t put it down. As much as I wanted to slowly enjoy it, I couldn’t as I had to know what would happen and this one truly kept me on the edge of my seat not being able to turn the page fast enough. This was a great mix of suspense and angst but I also loved the sweet and tender moments that happened as well. And of course who doesn’t love Brenda’s hot and steamy moments. I really loved Quinn and Andrew’s story and hate to have to say goodbye to them but I am hoping this is not the end, hoping that we might get to see more of them down the road and hoping to see what comes of Bethy and if she too will find her HEA.

I’ve finally met my match, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make her truly mine

Review:Where do I begin. I loved this story. It’s a story of two love stories in one, but one is the driving force for the other. It’s a story of love, sacrifice and family. A sister that will do anything and make any sacrifice she can, to make sure her sister is safe, fed and, warm.

Quinn has no idea where their next meal will come from, or if they will be warm and safe for the night. They have moved at to the warmer air in the abandoned tunnels of New York. Her sister Bethy has a cough, she has to do something, that’s where she meets her next sacrifice.

Andrew has it all and is completely different from Quinn. He loves women and can have whomever he chooses. He has walls and barriers as well. I loved watching them grow together. I rooted for them the entire time. I could feel their love even at the time they didn’t know it. I felt like I was right their with both of them. They had their secrets and didn’t want to share. Quinn for safety and survival and Andrew for his work. Quinn wants to keep a low profile and Andrew is in the public eye. They share things in common as well. I could not put this book down. I refused to sleep until it was over. I felt their love, their happiness, when the thought they failed the ones they love.I loved Quinn allowing someone to help her when she felt it was her and her sister against the world. One phone call was all it took for her to ask for help and it changed everything. Join Quinn and Andrew on their journey to love, happiness, and family.

Beginning – 5 Strong Stars!
Middle – 4 Still-Good Stars!
Ending – 3 Aw-man-but-I-still-liked-it Stars!

This book has a kick-ass, awesome beginning. Quinn and her sister are homeless. They are running from a secret, so they have to stay low. I really enjoyed how the author doesn’t give all of the secrets away so it made me want to keep reading. Quinn needs money because her sister is sick. She is given an offer that she can’t refuse, but I loved that she was on her guard even at the beginning and didn’t just give into the offer, but knew she would have to do what needed to be done to save her sister. I enjoyed the relationship between Quinn and Andrew. It was unexpected and sweet and sexy how they got to know each other.

My Andrew:

My Quinn:

I enjoyed the premise of this book. The fact that I read the whole thing says a lot because I am usually a quitter if I am not enjoying a book. There were definitely some cheesy lines where I kinda rolled my eyes. Overall, I liked the characters, but I thought they could use some polishing. Quinn came across as this strong homeless girl who doesn’t put up with shit, and I loved her in the beginning. I think the author wanted her to also show her vulnerable side, which is great, but there was a disconnect between Quinn’s strength and her vulnerability. They just didn’t seem like the same person.

The ending felt rushed. The secret reveal of Andrew’s job is a little too easy. The overall ending was a little anti-climactic. I wanted it to be more badass.

Not having read any other works by Brenda Rothert before, I was extremely impressed with His, it was a page-turner that had me reading nonstop. It's definitely not your typical Cinderella story, but it's unique enough to keep you wanting for more.

It all begins with a simple proposition, sleep with a wealthy man for one night and receive $500 dollars in the process. If anyone were asked that, some might simply say no, but not Quinn. After been a runaway for a couple if years now, she has to take care of her younger sister, and $500 dollars would help her get her sister the medication that she needs. So when a stranger comes up to her and asks her exactly that, she immediately accepts not knowing what she was getting herself into. Now, it was only supposed to be one night, but meeting Andrew changed the game, and now she has to do her job without getting her feeling crushed in the process.

Andrew is a wealthy man, who can get just about any women he wants, but that is exactly why he doesn't want the women he attracts. They are all after his money, and or attachments that he is not willing to give. So when he gets the idea to pay women to sleep with him for one night, he thinks that he just solved his problems, but meeting Quinn has left him in doubts that his money can't even solved. Now as he learns more about her, the attraction and chemistry between them grows even more as days go by. It is until they start to reveal their secrets that they both wondered if there could be a potential relationship for them in the future or not.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was filled with twists and turns that had me reading until the very end. The characters have their pasts that they're trying to move away from, but when they meet they find out that they could confide on each other and grow stronger. There is a part of the story that might just be a bit hard to believe, I mean who would actually do what Quinn did, but it really works out well in the end. I loved the ending very much, I would highly recommend reading this story, it will not disappoint. :)

I finished His today and absolutely adored the story. Truly a five star read. There was a bit of Pride and Prejudice meets Cinderella then turned into Pretty Woman in play throughout it. I highly recommend this one for anyone looking for a story with a strong heroine, a swoon worthy hero, a passionate coming together and a whole lot of other thrilling elements thrown into it.

Meh.. this was alright more 2.5 stars then 3 even then I'm not sure.

There was nothing epic about the H and h's love. It was just there.

Also, I didn't really like how the heroine just left her sister. I get that the $$ would help but why not just somehow take her with you?

4.5 Andrew and Quinn Stars

I really enjoyed this grown up , dark themes , Cinderella-esque novel. Andrew is a 28 yo smart, rich and successful man. Quinn is a 21yo reosourceful . homeless , runaway girl who is also protecting her 16yo Sister. Quinn has nothing and Andrew has everything. The story has glimmers of Indecent Proposal when Andrew offers Quinn money to stay with him for 6 months. Quinn is not obliged to have sex with him but the chemistry is positively crackling between them. I loved the build up to these two actually being intimate. Once they are properly together , Andrew and Quinn are hot.

This story had lots of darker themes underlying but there were lighter moments too. There were a couple of twists I hadn't seen coming and the character development is really well done.

HEA? Yes
Cheating? Absolutely not. These two are all about each other.

My Thoughts
A unique storyline that was enjoyable to read. I liked that the dramatics didn't involve OW/OM. I felt that there were some plot moments that were quote weak. I wouldn't trust my sister in the arms of a friend of someone of the streets. I'm surprised that she isn't keep Bethy with her. But asides from that I enjoyed it.

Great story of a girl on the run with her sister willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and have food in her stomach. I loved the slow friendship turned into love, Quin might have been strong when she talked but only because she knew Andrew would be there to save the day if she was in trouble. Great story

This book lacks the fundamental elements to make it gripping, the plot is not very original and the story loses its appeal as chapters go by... This authors needs improvement before being able to write something captivating CHEERS
