A trip to Paris. A seductive older boss. An illicit, irresistible escape.
Kat Walker needs a distraction. Broken-hearted from a breakup and working long hours as an intern at Mistress Media, she longs for an escape. So when the opportunity to accompany her boss to Paris arises, Kat can't say no, especially since she'll be spending the week with Lydia Davenport, Mistress Media's new CFO. The mysterious woman has occupied Kat's fantasies since the day she started her internship.
Lydia Davenport lives a solitary existence. After her wife's death, Lydia hardened her heart to love. Instead of relationships, she prefers a beautiful woman at her feet, calling her "Mistress." A woman like Kat--sweet, innocent, forbidden fruit desperate to be plucked--is everything Lydia desires.
One night is all it takes for Kat to discover that Lydia is even more commanding in the bedroom than in the boardroom. Immersed in a secret, addictive fling, neither woman is prepared for what they find in each other--a sense of security, solace, and maybe even love.
Can Kat and Lydia break free from the chains of the past, or will their hearts remain locked away forever?

Anna Stone is such a dependable read. If you want something sexy with some taboo, kink, and low drama, she's the one. Really, I enjoy that she doesn't drag out the conflict. Her books are sexy feel-good reads and I really appreciate it.
You get French speaking, sexy talk, tight pencil skirts, flogging....what's not to like? It's a boss-intern type situation, if that tickles your fancy. I kind of need Lydia Davenport in my life now. The hottest kind of characters, wow.
Anna Stone, your dialogue! I'm bowing at your feet.
I'm very ready for the next part of this series. I'm voracious.
Edit: I read this again book and wow, the reveal at the end about Lydia's ex really affected me this time. The turmoil hit and the dynamics of her changes over the years makes so much sense. Updating to five stars! ☆☆☆☆☆
Anna Stone’s books are my guilty pleasure. No one knows how to write bdsm stories better than her. This one was softer than the others in that aspect, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I’ve loved all her books and this series is not any different. I quite enjoyed this second book and I was ecstatic to see characters from the other books, and of course, the infamous Lilith’s Den 🔥 Kat and Lydia’s relationship was a beautiful one. They both had their problems, but they worked through them and in the end, that lovely happy ending was everything and so much more 🥰 100% recommend
Lydia has a special insight into how to treat Kat’s submissive side. What a fabulous addition to the Mistress series. These books are a must read. Watching their relationship develop was so beautiful and sexy. I love all the characters and will wait patiently for the next book.
Ensnared Hearts stands apart from any other Anna Stone book I've read. It offers an incredibly sweet and tender exploration of the BDSM world, beautifully balancing intensity with emotional warmth. Kat and Lydia's journey is about more than just passion—it's about building a strong, authentic relationship. The challenges they face feel real, and watching them navigate these obstacles with maturity and grace is both touching and inspiring. Their growth, both as individuals and as partners, makes their love story deeply believable. By the end, you can't help but wholeheartedly believe in their happily-ever-after.
I received an ARC in exchange of an honest opinion.
I had such high hopes for this book because the previous one really worked for me. This one? Unfortunately not that much.
First of all, Anna told us in our Facebook Group that she had issues writing this novel and, to be honest, i get what she meant. During the reading we were able to notice many moments in which the characters kind of felt uncomfortable around each other, even when they were doing something intimate, which brings us to another subject that didn’t work for me during this book: the sex scenes.
I really think this is my problem, a timing problem. Perhaps i read this book in a wrong moment because i felt that there were many sex scenes during the entire novel. This feeling only got stronger when i realized they didn’t have moments in which they only talked and got to know each other better.
Lydia is a character with an amazing and interesting background and i felt that i didn’t see her understanding her feeling towards Kat because of Kat; i mean, i didn’t feel she knew Kat well enough to understand she deserved a restart, a new life because she was falling for what Kat is as a person.
In addition, i didn’t see them having an actual conversation about limits and boundaries. At one moment they were talking about what soft and hard limits are and at the other they were going through these limits... it just felt too much for me, since Kat was a “newborn” in submissive’s world. I think Lydia was kinda irresponsible with Kat by pushing her through her limits without having an actual conversation about that.
Another thing that really bothered me also because BDSM was new to Kat, was that Lydia didn’t explain at all about sub space, and more than that, we didn’t see Kat going deep into her sub space even after her limits have been pushed till the edge.
All these things made difficult for me to buy their romance, mostly due to Lydia’s background being so little explored.
Kat, on the other hand, could’ve been a great character for me if in the beginning i didn’t had the feeling that she was too pushy. I felt she didn’t respect Lydia’s worries about her job. I felt that she didn’t think about what she truly wanted from Lydia.
The best part of her is her roommate.
All in all, despite of my high expectations being kind of frustrated, i’ll still look forward to Anna’s next works.
Tangled Vows still is my favorite book so far but i had fun reading Ensnared Hearts and i appreciate the opportunity of receiving it’s ARC.
By the way, warmed my heart seeing Yvonne and Lydia’s friendship. I want more of that.
This was an alright read, but something didn't really click with this couple for me. The story was fairly weak, I mean, how many older boss/young assistant tropes are out there? Poor decisions had me banging my head against the wall, and the predictability is strong. Even the kinky sex didn't really hold my interest, unfortunately, probably because I wasn't invested in the couple. I couldn't see the draw Lydia had towards Kat. She wasn't interesting, intriguing, nothing made her stand out, except maybe for her long curly hair constantly escaping her bun. Yum.
Ms. Stone is still a strong writer and that kept me going on this one. This was still a unique escape.
This book strongly reminds me of " The Devil wears Prada", it has hot ice queen, wide eyed intern, steamy sex scenes, and a happy ending. A perfect book to enjoy on the vacation.
3 stars. I didn’t love it nowhere near as much as book one but that’s because the dead spouse trope is not my jam at all. I always end up feeling bad for the love interest for having to pretty much compete with a dead person and that’s what this was and it annoyed me so much. Also, Lydia didn’t handle the whole BDSM aspect with Kat correctly. They just jump in. Kat is new to all of this and they have no discussion, no contract, or anything but then she’s tying her up and all of this stuff? It didn’t sit well with me. There was no foundation.
Outside of those two major gripes, I liked the characters well enough. Lydia is still grieving the loss of her wife and Kat is still hurt from catching her ex cheating on her. They both have baggage. I wasn’t that sold on their chemistry a hundred percent but they had their moments. I just think this one got bogged down with too much of the sex scenes and not enough of them actually talking to each other. I did like the way it ended though.
I’m iffy about book three because poly/menage stories are not my thing BUT one of the characters is Black so that made me more interested in it. Just not right now. I think I’m done with this series for the moment. Tangled Vows was wonderful and I loved seeing Yvonne and Ruby in this but this book as a whole just left me a bit cold.
Well... Let me just start by saying that I wasn't certain this book was going to be for me. I can never usually get into the BDSM theme, I have put books down because of it. But this book... How wrong was I!? I loved this book! Consider me converted (If Anna Stone is the author)
Anna Stone knows how to spin a tale - for sure, but the way in which she weaves it is gorgeous... And totally hot! There is one particular scene that will be stuck in my mind for quite some time, *excuse me while I fan myself*.. Damn! 🔥
The characters are delicious, the writing style wonderful and the storytelling captivating enough to make anyone curious and craving more.
Hearts and minds take time to heal and the right person can make the journey worth it.
I think every time I read Anna Stone's books I can't love these characters more. Then she writes her next one and I am awed by the depth it reaches. Kat and Lydia both have suffered love loss. Kat by betrayal and Lydia by death of her wife. Neither is ready for a relationship but the spark turns a lot hotter making them both be open to healing. Their shared experiences bring a strength they both need. It was such a good story as we feel the attraction turn into a deep love. Seeing Lydia finally come back to sharing her heart and Kat letting go of the bitter feelings make for a book I could not put down. Of course it was so wonderful to see other characters from Mistress and catch up with them. This was a delicious story I just could not put down. It made me want to re-read all Anna's books again.
I love Lydia. She's a mistress to my liking. She has a slightly harder hand than Yvonne from Tangled Vows, but also a gentle way of leading you. The hot scenes, such as in the storage room or later the scene in your home on the table ... I can only say extremely worth reading. The chemistry between Kat and Lydia is once again beautifully written and the characters are, as always, very well developed for the length of the book. Lydia's background and loss brings the necessary depth to this story. The moments are all the more beautiful when she finally admits after such a long time and allows Kat to become a part of her and Kat is so willing! I love Office Romances and it's a light combination of Office Romance, Age Gap and a light version of an Ice Queen that is melted! Enjoy!
Anna Stone blows it away with Ensnared Hearts. This book has heat, love, and the ladies of Mistress, Inc. It was hard to put down. When Lydia says "....more than anything else, I want your submission." , oh my goodness.....all you can think of is yes, Mistress. Definitely worth buying!!!
I am seriously in love with this Mistress series. I madly loved the first one and this one is a perfect addition. Love getting to know more from the ladies at Mistress Media. Truly adored Lydia. The first scene we get with her in it, I was already sold. I totally get it, Kat, I'd be swooning myself.
Lydia's naughty comment on the flight gave me tingles, not gonna lie. Yes is was something simple and I'm sure whatever to most but... it's the small things in books that get me most of the time. Prime example was a dinner that happened while in Paris. Lydia's comments and just the way she phrases things. I'm done. Ah Paris, Paris, Paris. I can say no more...
There is so much I wish to say but I feel everything would be spoilers in most instances... so I will just leave it with...
The stolen moments, like the closet at Mistress Media, and the intimate scenes were.... delicious.
And on the serious note...While Kat and Lydia were both wounded souls in different capacities of life I found them perfect for each other to move forward and live again. My heart truly pulled for them to work things out. I loved both of them pretty equally which is always nice when reading and truly wanting to root for the main couples in books. Lydia may have had my heart just a little more ;)
Definitely adding this to my favorites shelf next to the first one. :)
I was so excited for this new book by Anna Stone and didn’t get disappointed. I was hooked from the start and fell in love with Lydia and Kat right away. I’m in awe of Anna Stone‘s writing every time I read a book by her. It’s just so sensual and beautiful. You totally wish being a part of it. Even if you might not be into everything they do. But Anna makes you wanting it. Lol And of course it’s not possible to actually be there with the characters, but Anna Stone was able to describe their feelings in a way that it was like being there, feeling what they were feeling. I was totally hurting with both characters and was able to relate to them. I highly recommend this book. Just like her others and can’t wait for more.
Kat and Lydias story was a beautifully written love story that contained a fair amount of drama but also had a great background story told of both characters. Both women needed each other and this story was written in such a great way to show how to bring them together even if it was through something Kat didn’t know she needed/ wanted in her life. Great story to read, couldn’t put it down once I started reading it.
I loved this instalment in this Mistress series! It felt more intimate and subtle at times when it came to the BDSM side but it was perfect for those characters. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Lydia and Kat, especially the twist with Lydia’s past and the collar. It gave a different perspective to the previous Mistresses.
If you want a great lesbian romance with excellent smut then with Anna Stone you really can’t go wrong!
3.5 for the second book in the Mistress series. Kat was an employee who became involved with her boss, Lydia. Lydia introduced Kat to the pleasures of bdsm. I listened to the audiobook on Scribd and enjoyed the story, but again, not the overly affected voice.
I'm really enjoying the Mistress series. Anna Stone manages to balance the romance development with sex scenes. By that I mean, the characters are part of the BSDM scene but are also people living life and going through things. I'm invested in the staff at Mistress Media.
Just say “Yes, Mistress” as you add this to your love this book list. I read through this in a day and couldn’t put it down. I really loved getting to know Lydia. She hasn’t been in the other two books much and it’s great to get to know her. Her history is touching and relatable as is how she has dealt with it until Kat comes into her life and turns things around. Kat is working through her own issues and trying to find who she really is and is drawn to the MM CFO in spite of the dangers to her fledgling career. Once again, Anna Stone has penned a terrific (not to mention hot) story with deep characters that you’ll be cheering for until the end. I received and ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Kat is an intern who works for ice queen Lydia. Lydia is a widow and she has shut herself off from love. During a work trip to Paris Lydia discovers that Kat enjoys being a submissive. Well written story with good sex scenes.
I received an ARC copy is exchange for an honest review. Anna Stone is one of my favourite authors and I really enjoyed this book. The writing is great, I enjoyed the characters and their interactions, I thought Lydia's journey was particularly interesting. I look forward to the next one.
I really enjoyed this book. I think that I liked this one better than the first book in the series. I loved the angsty age gap romance between Lydia and Kat. I was able to fly through this book. I am not quite sure why I didn't get the 5 star feeling. I will definitely be continuing on with this series.
Let’s keep the “Mistress Series” going. It is that good. Another good pairing, another sweet story. I like the continuation including previous characters from the first book. This couple Lydia and Kat were a breath of fresh air. Both lost their hearts and both pretended they could get by being cold to love. The story itself winds through the ups and downs of a couple entangled in a fight to not lose their hearts. I really wanted to see what happened to Courtney and hope in another book it gets mentioned because respecting privacy and knowledge should have been number one in working at Mistress and leaving that bit out just bothered me. I am a big Anna Cove fan and this book just added to the excitement I get whenever one of her books come out.
Bravo once again to Anna for giving us another sizzling story. I loved the relationship that developed between Lydia and Kat. Lydia was still mourning the loss of her wife and understandably so but when she meets Kat something changes in her. I loved their forbidden romance and their addiction to one another. I was very surprised when Kat found out that the collar actually belonged to Lydia. That was a huge turning point for me in the book to see Lydia had changed so much from submissive to domme. It was a beautiful story and the love scenes did not disappoint per usual. The bar is always set and always exceeded. Another great one on my shelf.
