While this book had a promising premise and a solid ending, my main issue was with everything that happened in the middle. Unfortunately, the plot felt weak and was largely driven by the MMC’s desire to be with the FMC. What frustrated me the most was that there were so many elements that could have made for a strong storyline—villain origin potential, a traumatic past, secrets, dragons—yet it all fell flat. Such a shame. ...more

This book had the potential to be a really great story, but unfortunately, the female main character’s pettiness made it difficult to enjoy. The plot itself is well-crafted—she writes a novel that she’s ashamed of because it’s a bit spicier than usual. Despite her success, earning tons of money from it, she’s too embarrassed to tell her publishing family that she’s the author. The mother would never accept her daughter wrote a romance , she is too good and to choose such a worthless genre.
At 70% no one still has a clue she is the real author and she is still firm in the decision not to tell anyone.
At some point, the younger sister nearly outs her secret, which really bothered me. Why would anyone want to expose someone’s pen name so much? That felt so wrong to me. I understand what the author was trying to do with this plot point, but instead of adding tension or depth, it just dragged the story down due to the main character’s pettiness.
Another issue is the lack of a dual POV. We only get the FMC’s perspective, so we never really know what the MMC is thinking, and that feels like a missed opportunity. Because of this, I struggled to finish the book. Despite the voice actress doing a fantastic job with the narration, the story was difficult to get through.
I feel like the author wanted to make a tribute to all our beloved romance books and the amazing people that are behind it, but she did it by exposing and using one of the worst stigma there is on this genre.
Overall, I’m disappointed. While the main concept is positive, the execution is poor. I found very few redeeming qualities in the story, and more than once, I considered not finishing it.
The voice actress did an amazing job with it, the problem definitely wasn’t hers or the production. ...more

Addie is focused on work and being a woman in a men´s world she cannot be distracted by anything or anyone. But Duncan, the guy she had a secret story four years ago, and captain of the hockey team seems bend to conquer her back. And when for PR reasons the two are thrown together it´s difficult to resist something that was so good. I love when the MMC is caring and I oved Duncan, not just with Addie, but also with his niece. He truly is the perfect book boyfriend. Also I related a lot to Addie, she wanted to make it and was scared of loosing everything she worked for because she is a woman. Unfortunately working every day in a men´s world I feel all her insecurities really close to me and it wasn´t always easy to process them (even though this is a rom-com, Pippa Gant approaches this topic splendidly). I really liked the narration of this ALC, Duncan voice was so hot!!! (and wait for the spice, it will get even better)...more

I really liked Timothy´s writing in New Adult and this book was just a confirmation of it! I absolutely love how he treats some pretty difficult themes in such a delicate way and even though this attention is there for the length of the book I still had my stomach in knots during the third act not really break-up.
This book was quick and cute. I loved how both characters were flawed but still so open and ready to listen to each other's needs. The representation was spot on!
Recommended for any lover of sweet yet spicy mm romances.

Like I often do I went into this book knowing little next to nothing of the plot and I definitely enjoyed the ride.
The Frostbound Queen is a standalone spicy fantasy about Liria, the only daughter of the King and Queen of winter. When her parents succumb so their sorrow, Liria is forced to learn to use her powers to control the Frost that protects Winter fro the humans. At eleven she accept the offer of her fathe´s best friend, Lord Ronan, to become her guardian and train her to be Queen.
Without going too much into details and spoil the plot, I just want to say that I loved how this book evolved the relationships between the characters so seamlessly from FM, to another FM, to MM and finally MMF! it was hot and i love a good polyamory trouple!!!!
The only reason why I gave it 3 starts it´s because Ronan could have been anyone else but her guardian. That felt a lot like grooming since Liria goes and lives with his since she is 12. (I know she is 22 now and that we are reading about nearly immortal elvs here, but it still felt too much)....more

Zodiac Academy hangover? Don´t worry, Olivia Pharos is here to save you!
For the category books that need all the hype, we have Celestial Academy: Essence, the first book in this new, adventurous, epic, sexy, urban fantasy.
First of all thank you NetGalle and IBPA for the ALC, if it weren´t for you I would have never discovered what might be my newest obsession.
I loved how Olivia was able to put into this book so many of the vibes I love without copying any other fantasy. Yes, we have Godric aka Godawful, the broody-powerful-possessive MMC; Wen, the sassy -apparently powerless but actually not- FMC, a deadly school, and many other tropes we all love and cherish. But the plot, how the story evolves, and the slow burn, are so original and refreshing they immediately trapped me in.
I love all the female characters and I can´t wait for them to form the ultimate girlbosses squad and just kill everyone in their path.
If you love: - Morally grey characters - Slow burn - Hidden powers - Academy - Angels and Demons - Friendship - Amazing banter Then what are you waiting for???? RUN!
The ALC was splendidly narrated and I had a super fun time listening to it!

Very sweet and cute hockey romance!!
This was my first book from this author, but I will definitely go back for more. This is a clean cute romance, so there is no spice, but even though I love a spicy hockey story, Logan was so hot and sweet I really didn´t feel the need for it.
The book is splendidly narrated, and both the voice actors did an amazing job voicing Parker and Logan.
I loved Parker´s internal monologues had me smiling more than once, because me too girl, me too!
I didn´t give the book 4 stars just because it had some deeper themes that were never really solved properly, and I feel I would have made even a stronger connection with the characters if they had been.
Overall I will definitely suggest it to my friends if they are in the mood for something cute and wholesome!...more

Such a cute cozy and sweet romance.
There are two things I love in romance books: cute animals and cute kids with single parents. I find both these minor tropes very difficult to execute because the FMC and MMC have to bond both with each other and with the kid/animal. Well, here Sarah Adams does it flawlessly.
Evie has epilepsy, she is 27 and wants to live her life free of the burden her surname carries. She works for a Service dog company after regaining her freedom thanks to her dog Charlie. So when she received an email from a single dad, Jacob, asking for information about a service dog for his 10-year-old daughter with epilepsy, Evie was ready to help in any way she could. Unfortunately, Jacob didn´t know anything about this email, being tricked into it by his daughter Sam. But what do you do when your daughter may have needs you cannot always meet? And what do you do if the lady trying to sell you a dog is hot and you have an instant connection?
Sarah Adams is always able to engage from page one and she proves it EVERY SINGLE TIME!
The only tiny bit I didn´t like was the miscommunication bit by the end, I felt it was a little unnecessary, but apart from that it was flawless. Perfect for a cute summer read by the beach.
And as always thank you to my loyal friends NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to review this book! The audio was flawless as always!...more

Fast and Furious meets High School drama in this YA story.
Up until 68% I loved this book, I was really engaged and deeply involved with the life of the characters. The autism rep was done very well and I liked the way Leti, the protagonist, deals with the realization the boy she is in love with may have different needs. Jacob was a precious precious character, definitely my favorite of the book.
Around 68% of something big happens plot-wise and I found the way teenager Leti deals with it very relatable, yet annoying. She is a teenager adrift, she never met her mother, lived with an absent father (whom I really hated), and now had to deal with yet another tragedy in her family. The accident was ok, I liked it, but the memory loss was too much. And to take on her shoulder all the responsibility for Jacob´s house? What was Jacob´s mother doing? I don´t know, some things really gave me the ick.
Overall I would recommend it, mainly if you like cars and for the autism representation.
The audiobook was well narrated. The voice actress really did a great job with all the Spanish words. So applauses to her :)...more

Thank you NetGalley and Spotify Audiobooks for allowing me to listen to an early copy of Love, Off the Record.
If I had to describe Love, Off the Record with three words they would be: angsty, funny, and absolutely important. In this YA rom-com, Samantha Markham doesn´t just give us a rivalry between lovers in college romance, but she gives us banter, friendship, angst, and a view of how difficult it can be to be plus-size and love yourself.
Wyn and Three are rivals. She will beat him no matter what and the position on the university newspaper will be hers. And while Wyn tries to beat Three, find her voice, friendship, and maybe even flirt a little with the cute RA. But when Three hits a story too close to home for Wyn they need to put their differences aside and try to uncover something too important to continue bickering.
The banter and angst in this book are top notch and I was engaged since the second one.
As far as internalized and not fatphobia goes this book threads the topic very gently without being too heavy, but it says what we fat girls always think. How others perceive us, how we have to hide while eating for fear of being judged, how it is not even remotely possible that a cute guy can like us when there are so many pretty skinny girls out there. And let me tell you, I know everything about this, since I lived it. And girls, always love yourself. Because like Wyn you are capable, strong, and most importantly beautiful, and people who fall in love with you will like you no matter what.
The audiobook is really well produced and I loved the voice actress. She did a beautiful job voicing all of Wyn´s internal struggles and not....more

Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this cute wild rom-com.
This book is for all the TikTok girlies in love with the most famous lumberjack ever Thoren Bradley, because yes, the MMC is him and no one will ever change my mind about it. I don´t know if the author did it purposefully but the result is still a book the same - not that I´m complaining -.
This book follows Holly and Jack. She is in search of the one, he doesn´t want to be emotionally attached to anyone, but when he sees Holly on a streak of horrible dates in the restaurant he works at, Jack decides to coach her to find the perfect man. Little did he know that maybe he didn´t fit even one of Holly´s parameters, but she sure fit his.
As rom-coms go, this one was full of 4 stars. Enjoyed it and it´s a perfect cute and fun read for the summer.
