Kate and Glock get called out during a raging storm to help locate a 2 year old Amish boy who went missing from his bed in the night. Kate's gut says the mother and grandmother are not telling her everything, and Kate's gut is never wrong.
Another quick and tense read that had my mama heart pounding and breaking by the conclusion.
Series notes: The novellas are fine to be read as standalones, but the whole series is great so why not read them all.
Narration notes: She does fine. When she does the male parts she sounds a little stiff, like she has to think about it.

Congressman needs a wife to look relatable + Daughter needs money to take care of her ailing father = a marriage of convenience.
Odette (28) & Madden (28) went to high school together, but he had no clue who she was at their 10 year reunion. To save face she pretends she doesn’t know who he is, but then when she shows up for a dinner at his parents house he realizes she is the perfect candidate to be his fake wife. It doesn’t hurt that her background is in political science and she’s gorgeous to boot.
Odette is back home to help her mom take care of her ailing 75 year old father after a stroke. Turns out they are up to their eyeballs in debt, so Odette agrees to marry Madden to help them out.
Overall, cute and predictable with likable characters. There was something heavy hitting towards the end with a side character that I wasn't expecting that made me tear up. I can see myself reading the rest of the series.
Narration notes: I thought they both did a wonderful job.

Love watching baking competitions and love mangos, so I was excited to give this one a whirl. But then 10% in and I realize I'm NOT going to be happy because it's DUAL 1ST, present tense, and only ONE NARRATOR!!! Yes, each chapter tells me who is talking, but without a distinguishing voice it's hard to keep track since they're both women.
Anyway...Kiskeya (love the unusual name, not the personality) & Sully both want to win the Holiday Baking Challenge, duh. They're paired up together, do some bickering and then some boinking. I wanted more action in the kitchen and less in the bedroom for a novella. Also, could do without the meanness. Talking about food made me hungry, so job well done there.
If this at all sounds up your alley I'd definitely read and not listen to it.
Narration notes: I guess she did fine, but as you've read above I'm not happy there was only 1.

A super quick introduction into a series that will follow FBI agent Kate O’Hare and con artist Nick Fox. There isn't too much I can say for such a short story. Seems like the series will be a fun cat and mouse time.

It's nearly 30 years after the tragedy from book 1 and about 16 years after book 2.
Eloise's 20 year old granddaughter, Finlay, is living with her and has the same psychic abilities. I thought this would bring some more excitement to the series, but it didn't end up providing too much of it. I do like how they could bond over it and Eloise helped her understand some things.
All in all, this is a good, quick series that can be binged in one day.
Series notes: I've just found out that this is a spin off series. We first met Eloise in Fragile, which I read ages ago so obviously I don't recall much about how she was involved in the plot. The detective from that book makes a cameo here. A good idea to read this series in order.
Narration notes: A well seasoned narrator so A-okay, however Eloise is probably now around 70, so I wish she sounded a little older.

It's 14 years after the tragedy from book 1 and Eloise is now working at a PI firm. Her daughter is grown with a family of her own.
I'm not sure the time jump of so many years worked in this books favor. She is still using her gift of having psychic abilities, but there wasn't too much action in this installment. The ending does leave us on an intriguing note, though.
Series notes: Probably a good idea to read book 1 first so you have an understanding of who Eloise is.
Narration notes: A well seasoned narrator so A-okay!

Eloise and husband, Alfie, and their 2 daughters, Emily and Amanda, are driving off to begin a normal day when there's an accident. Eloise wakes up after being in a coma and she starts to get weird visions. It's almost like she has psychic abilities now.
Can't say too much since it's a super quick read. I really like it, well minus the tragedy of course, that's very heartbreaking. I'll definitely continue on with the series.
Narration notes: A well seasoned narrator so A-okay!

Hazel is the new overnight shift transcriber for the Black Harbor PD. She loves this shift because it means she doesn’t have to see much of her awful husband.
Hazel starts transcribing for Detective Nikolai Kole and they grow close. She helps him investigate The Candyman case and then they're falling for each other.
The infidelity is bad enough, but to text I love you to your husband 16 seconds before you whomp it up with someone else is on another whole level of sleeziness. Is the hub a douche himself? Sure is, but still doesn’t make it okay.
Anyway, I suppose there were some nice twists, but overall I wasn’t a big fan. I really only read it because I had agreed to read the second in the series before I knew this was part of one, and I hate to read out of order.
Narration notes: While her overall performance was fine it was a bit rough listening to the recordings that she was transcribing because she said the words comma and period over and over and over again. But she did a good job differentiating her tone for each character, even the males.
