There were a few twists that made me gasp, and clap, and cheer. It was a satisfying ending to the series. I loved the characters the most,especially Sevro who was so much fun, and though there was a large cast of characters I felt like Peirce did a good job of making each voice distinct, each personality unique. The world was a solid one, original and well developed, but I think what this series excels most at is plotting. The politics of this world was just amazing, a major accomplishment for a writer who is so young. I will read whatever he comes up with next....more

This book was recommended to me by a friend a while back. I've never read anything like it. This author did a great job at creating an alien culture, and I have to admit making them appear more humane than the actual humans. On the surface, it's a story about reintegration after an apocalyptic event on Earth, but underneath the surface it's about so much more. This is only the first of 3 books in the series. I'm curious to see where this ends up....more
