That's why this review will be shorter than usual. I'm not a huge fan of slow burns, but there was something about Get a Life, Chloe Brown that not only did I enjoy it, I read it twice just to experience it again. I really loved the way the books was written, it was so easy to read, but it also grabbed onto my attention and emotion. I also loved the characters, Chloe felt like a long lost friend, and if she didn't fall for Red, I sure as hell did. I don't know what else to add, I just loved this book so much. I hope a lot of people pick it up. I recommend it.

It's fast pace, it's nothing too complex, and it has characters that you can't help but like. It's not dense with plot, or drama. It's easy to read, and it's overall a feel good novel. Personally, I feel like the writing could've been a bit better, and some things could've been further expanded on. But if you're a fan of the romance genre and are thinking about picking up this book, you won't regret it.

From the moment I saw it on NetGalley I was impressed by what it had to offer. Both the idea behind this graphic novel, and the art featured are amazing. It's funny and at moments touching, but what it is most of is original. I really liked the style of the art which seemed almost innocent, despite the nature of the storyline.

The main reason why I requested to review this book, I will admit, were the words 'love triangle' in the summary. Who doesn't love a good love triangle. But I am confused by this book. And I'm not just talking about the odd behavior of the characters, or the main character's decision in the end, cause those are always up for a debate. What I'm most confused by is the writing itself. The dialogue tabs are all over the place, I had no idea who was speaking half the time. The phrases were also off, I had a hard time cracking the code and trying to understand. I get that it's a translation from Italian, but it's not done well at all. I grew up reading translations, I grew up reading books translated from Italian, and I had no problem understanding. This one just isn't executed well....more

This book is okay. It would be amazing if it's expanded. It's missing backstory, and inner monologue, and I would love it if most things weren't found out through dialogue. The story, the plot twists, and the characters are there, all of those things are fine. The only thing is that it seems as if it's all happening too fast, too soon, mostly because the inner monologue is missing. It just seems rushed. I really wanted to love it, but in the end I just liked it....more
This book was sort of okay. Both Riley and Devyn are likeable, quite realistic. The plot is generally entertaining, the events are mostly shown. The dialogues are kind off stiff and forced at moments, but I enjoyed the author’s capability to switch from one POV to other with ease, not a lot of authors are successful when it comes to differentiating the male from the female voice. It’s fast pace, the dull moments are minimal, I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a quick romance/erotica read.
However, I do need to acknowledge two things:
1. All of the above is true till chapter 26. From that point on, the story is quite messy and rushed, and the feeling you get from the story kind of descends from ‘this is good’ to ‘thank God the end is near, I really need to know how this ends’.
2. I did notice some moments that I have encountered in other books/movies/TV shows before. I can’t get into it too much, because it’s hard to keep this spoiler-free, so I’m just gonna say that if you decide to read this and have read Nicholas Sparks or watched New Girl, be on the lookout. You’ll come upon few familiar details.
P.S. There’s a Gary Styles at the end… Just saying....more

E.L. James shouldn’t be allowed to write another sequel of this horrific story.
The reason I started the Fifty Shades series was because a friend of mine was taken and she needed someone to discuss it with. I’m more excited about continuing The Rocker series, and that awfulness, than reading another one of these books.
Sure, we get a glimpse of Christian’s inner thoughts who are as juvenile as Ana’s, we learn some things, but none of what Mrs. James is writing about is making sense to me, at all. Not for one moment will I believe that trauma makes you such an asshole. And not for one moment will I believe that one can fall in love so blindly, that they can become so self-destructive.
These books would've been so wonderful, if there weren't as many sex scenes and if the writing was remotely good.
If there’s a next book, I’ll once again listen to some podcast, it’s the only way I can power through it. If only something inside didn’t force me to finish every book or book series I start....more

I wanted t know about Nik's life, then Jesse, then Drake, and even Shane, but then the series loosed up the grip it had on me. I dismissed the writing style of the series until I lost interest; honestly, there's so much fanfiction on ao3 that's better written and more eventful....more
