The writing is dry, confusing, and the characters are flat. The ending was a huge disappointment. Correa’s idea of what it was like to live through WWII is laughable. I obviously didn’t experience it, but I’m pretty sure most folks didn’t feel like “the war was becoming a distant memory” shortly after it ended.
I’m so bored of this I can’t be bothered to list all of what bothered me about this book but it’s a definite pass in my mind. ...more
