"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."
Oh, how grateful I am to have been sent an ARC of this absolutely marvelous book. Katharyn Blair created a world that I instantly fell in love with. Her writing kept me hooked to every page. Her characters were ones I loved so much. Her story was so very unique and definitely not what I expected.
Vesper is our main character. She has the ability to summon your worst fears. The only problem is she isn't able to control it and it’s extremely dangerous. Her one chance to undo the mistakes that plague her is by entering the tournament of the Unraveling. I loved how the story developed. It wasnt hasty but it wasnt slow either (does that make sense? I hope it does). Even when there was no action going on I was still enjoying it. I loved how different the story was from any other one that I’ve read that involves having abilities or powers. The abilities were different and they weren't repetitive, and I especially loved Vesper’s.
The events of the book were enjoyable. I loved the world building. Katharyn Blair is an author I’m going to look out for. At this point no matter what she writes, I’m going to read. Now I’m stuck with only one thought. And that is the fact that I read this 9 months in advance. Which means that I’m going to be waiting a long time for the next book. Was still worth it. Would recommend everyone to add this to their TBR.

This was so action packed and I loved that. I didn’t feel bored for a second, and the more I read, the more I wanted to know. About the world, the magic, everything. It was such an easy read. I enjoyed every minute of this. I loved the characters. That’s something I expected because Ilona Andrews write characters so perfectly and with so much care. You can’t help but love them. The story was interesting, and although I feel like it moved really fast, i know the other books are going to come with a lot more surprises.
I’m so glad all the books are out because now I can binge them all ...more

I’m always interested in finding out what my thoughts on a book that has so many mixed reviews will be. Of course, I probably wouldn’t have ever know I’m always interested in finding out what my thoughts on a book that has so many mixed reviews will be. Of course, I probably wouldn’t have ever know this series exists if it weren’t for my mother who recommended it to me in the first place (yes, my mother is awesome)
This was such a wild experience and in such a small book! There have been plenty of short books that have driven me to absolute boredom and I’m so glad this one isn’t one of them. I didn’t really know what to expect from this but honestly I enjoyed this so so much. I love that it has a uniqueness to it. Definitely didn’t see that reveal coming and I have a feeling it’s going to get a lot more intense with each book.
Am I a littler nervous about starting a series with over 50 books? Sure I am. Am I going to attempt it anyway? Absolutely....more

I was laughing so hard within the first 20% of the book and I just knew I had to continue the series. Charley is what I love in a main character. She's sassy, she's funny, and she's badass. This book was pure entertainment with some interesting little twists. I will say that what was going on between her and Reyes confused me a tiny bit, but considering how much fun I had, I'm going to look past some things.
I’m feeling giddy just knowing I have another 12 books to read in this series....more
I'm convinced that no one can do it like Ilona Andrews.
When I started this series I was not expecting to love them this much. I didn't even know if I'I'm convinced that no one can do it like Ilona Andrews.
When I started this series I was not expecting to love them this much. I didn't even know if I'd continue the series after the first book. I enjoyed book one and out of curiosity, but mostly my mother insistence, I picked up book two. I obviously ended up loving it and now these characters consume my every waking thought.
It's hard to find a book that gives you everything you want but is also unique and unlike other books you've read. I can safely say that this series is one of those. I haven't enjoyed myself this much reading a book in a long time. I haven't been this attached to characters in a long time. The humor is unmatched. I spend so much of this book on edge but I also get to laugh my head off frequently, and that, ladies and gentlemen is exactly what I'm looking for.
I thought the previous book was intense, but nothing compares to Magic Bleeds. I love that the authors give you a little bit of Kate's past with each book. They give you enough to keep you guessing and enough to keep you satisfied until the next book where they add a little more on top of that and you start becoming speechless. This book takes the cake in making me speechless. As I've said, they just get better. These books feature lore that I've honestly never heard of or even thought about. I can never guess what's happening because I don't know what they'll pull out next. Anything is possible. It's also highly developed. Everything is explained in these books, they never leave you hanging. They flesh out everything, and somehow, it fits.
I'm in love with slow burn romances. I love them. It doesn't get more slow burn than Kate and Curran, and I'll be honest, I thought it would be prolonged a lot more and I'm so happy it wasn't. These two both have very strong personalities. Curran is obsessed with protecting Kate, while Kate is a stick you with the end of my sword and ask questions later type person. Nothing will ever stop Kate from doing her Kate like things. It's interesting seeing the two of them interact and try to find a way to agree on things. It's not easy but they try to anyway.
The stakes were higher than they'd ever been in Magic Bleeds. Our previous villains, although formidable, have never reached this level. After this book is when I realized that there's no turning back. It's only going to get more intense and more dangerous from here. Not to mention the action sequence towards the end of the book that really had me clenching my jaw a bit too much. Plus, that ending really had me screaming inside, and I will never forgive Ilona Andrews for the amount of pain they keep causing me.
I feel now is when things really start to get serious and I'm nervous to find out what happens next. You want to know how nervous? So nervous that I finished this book ten days ago and since then I've been psyching myself up to read the next one. Still haven't gotten myself to pick it up, by the way.
