It seems only fitting that Book 5 of Owly gets 5 stars haha. I love that we got to see so many different adventures with Owly and his friends while still have a main story of looking at a photo album during a slumber party. What fun and unique ideas that each story had. It also showed us how great Owly and Wormy are together and their own personalities. This was a perfect read while being ill. I can’t wait for more....more

I learned from my mistake! This time I just read “Home Body” so I didn’t have to worry whether the title of the poem or body of poem would be read first. This definitely helped my enjoyment of the book to where I can say this is my favorite poetry book I’ve read in a very long time. I connected so much with what Ms. Kaur had to say as a female in their 30s who has experienced hardships and major changes. So glad I gave Ms. Kaur another chance....more

I love the message of being brave in scary moments, always trying to be helpful and that you have to get to know someone before making decisions about them. Owly is such a sweet soul and it was wonderful how we got to see him live his life with friends. It’s also nice how Mrs. Raccoon played a more upfront role in this book too....more

What a great book showcasing overcoming fears. The new friend introduced, a flying squirrel named Shadow, has such timidity over meeting anybody new that it reminded me of my own anxiety disorders. I found myself rooting for Owly and Wormy to befriend her even though it seemed highly difficult. Who knew Owly himself had his own fear to overcome from childhood? So glad he had a protective teacher around him. I do however wish to meet his childhood bully…to talk… yes… that’s it…. ...more

Absolutely loved this story about the Bluebird Family, Owly, Wormy and a new to us friend Flutter the Butterfly. This has been one of my most anticipated reads of 2023 as I loved the original “Garlic and the Vampire.” Happy to report that I loved “Garlic and the Witch “ too. It was a perfect read on a bad mental health day. Highly recommend this duology if you can find them at your library.
I’m hoping to get the two Garlic books for Christmas this year....more
I definitely want to own a copy of this book. Such a quick read since it's only a little over 100 pages with nice paintings and wonderful heart5 stars
I definitely want to own a copy of this book. Such a quick read since it's only a little over 100 pages with nice paintings and wonderful heartwarming messages. Even though the book isn't long I can definitely see myself rereading it more in the future. It would be a nice choice for a coffee table book or to have in an office as I can see many people's interests being peaked by it.
A warning to those who don’t like reading books in an author’s handwriting that this book may not be the best fit for them. Mr. Mackesy writes in cursive using the same ink he paints with throughout the book. I personally like it as it’s a nice personal touch but I’ve noticed some younger individuals struggling to read cursive writing....more

Easily one of the best books I’ve read in 2022 (so far). A main character who isn’t labeled by gender or even species is dealing with the problem of what to do when others see you as different. They have a supportive mother who let’s them know no matter what or where they are that she will always believe and be there for them. My heart is bursting love! Add to the mix that the main character handles this challenge on their own the way they see fit is such a good lesson to showcase to kids. Even having everyone talk about their feelings is shown. Can’t say enough good things about this book....more
Absolutely adored this comic! Totally identified with the anxiety that Garlic has to deal with daily. Witch APerfect short comic read for the weekend!
Absolutely adored this comic! Totally identified with the anxiety that Garlic has to deal with daily. Witch Agnes and Carrot are the BFFs everyone needs in their lives. Also, Carrot is non-binary and uses they them pronouns, which was a nice surprise. Celery is on a level of pettiness that can mostly be found on some kind of reality tv show or high school mean girl. Count is just old school class. Really hoping their is a sequel even though it doesn’t need it. Just want more Garlic stories in my life....more

This book came to me at the right time. I’ve been going through a period where I don’t know what I want to read. Even though I’m interested in multiple books nothing seems to be pulling me in enough to where I can finish a book. A big part of the reason why has been my mental and physical health have been very difficult to deal with recently. Charlie’s journey was SO relatable and real that it helped me feel seen. I’ve been working on getting better and even went to my doctor recently. Seeing someone else going through hard times and some fluffy true love gave me exactly what I needed. Nick’s relationship with his dad and Charlie’s relationship with his mom also made me feel less alone as I have family relationships very similar to them. David, Nick’s brother, can kick rocks. Honestly, he just needs to go. Tori standing up to him made me adore her even more. Nick’s mom is just perfect and we all need someone like this in our corner. Charlie’s dad and little brother were too funny at times and definitely great characters. The friend groups and teachers romance are even brought back and it’s fabulous! This is my favorite book out of the whole series so far! It’s a full 5 star read for me. Definitely plan on buying this book if not the entire series. This series has been wonderful and this book definitely has been my favorite....more

It bothers me that no matter how much I try that I can't fully explain how much I enjoyed this book and how much I want others to give this book a shot. I've spent days trying to figure out how best to write this review but I have to settle with what I have. This is my second read a work by Riley Sager, and I wasn’t sure what to fully expect. I REALLY liked the first book I read (it was “Lock Every Door”) but felt there was some minor problems to keep it from being a perfect read for me. “The Last Time I Lied” was a perfect read especially for it being so close to Halloween. It had so many twists with the story. I was able to guess some of the plot points but was still surprised by how it all came together. My expectations for Riley Sager books has been set to high from now on....more

It became a part of my life waiting for the weekend updates. These birds, drawings, and stories the creator fare absolutely delightful!! I'm still rooting for baby budgies to come from the couples (yes it may be weird to ship birds but they're mates in real-life so it's okay hopefully lol). If there was a comic I could recommend to everyone that would be a perfect introduction to Line Webcomic then this would be it. I'll probably reread this series later on....more
It’s absolutely true what all my book friends have been telling me. The audiobook is the best and only way to listen to “Daisy Jones & The Six”5 stars
It’s absolutely true what all my book friends have been telling me. The audiobook is the best and only way to listen to “Daisy Jones & The Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Sorry I was skeptical to all of you hahaha. It’s definitely going to be in the top audiobooks I’ve listened to in 2021.
I really liked the story but started to love it around the “Aurora” section of the book. My enjoyment of the story really took off around that part. It’s all really good though. It’s a great look at human psychology.

It truly felt like I was there with her through all the joysI loved that this book took me on a journey through most of Empress Maria Romanov’s life. It truly felt like I was there with her through all the joys and trials she and her family had to face. Boy we’re there a lot too... I laughed, cried, laughed out loud, and everything else in between with everything the Romanovs went through as heads of Russia. Regardless of how people feel about them, living in fear for your and your family’s lives is tough to go through. The social and political unrest rings similar to what’s going on in the USA right now. This was an incredible reading experience that any historical fiction lover should give a try.
