Good thing I know that despite the angst they bring, they usually end in a HEA. Regardless of that though this is such a funny, charming, and spicy read. The banter between Brody and Maggie is everything. I feel like many of Meghan’s MMCs are my spirit animal and getting their hilarious POVs is one of my favorite things in the world. And the sexual tension between these two? Made me MELT. Especially when they finally had their moment. SWOON! I loved them to pieces. And let’s not forget the friendships in her books are incredible and that’s no different with Bridesmaid for Hire. I can’t wait to go back and read a few of the secondary characters stories because I know I’ll love them just as much.
If you’re looking for a vacation themed romance with the following tropes, and one that will have you giggling from start to finish then this is a must read for you. Meghan is my FAVORITE romance author, and I can’t stop recommending her books to anyone who will listen!

If you’re a fan of dark romances set in an academic setting, then I think this series would be a good fit for you. Overall, I liked this one, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the first in the series. I think it’s because both books are SO similar- it’s like the author just changed the characters names and past circumstances but left everything else the same. It’s totally possible I just read them too close together which is why I feel like this, so I’ll wait a bit before diving into the third one.

I wanted to vomit while reading but strangely… I couldn’t look away. And now I have no choice but to read the second book because I need to know what happens with the son of the slob! GASPS! This one is pure splatterpunk horror. If you have ANY triggers at all then just skip this one because it touches upon almost everything. If you can suspend belief and enjoy gory fiction, then you won’t want to miss this book which has been highly recommended within the horror community.

Filthy Jealous Heir is everything the title describes and more. It’s SPICY, intense, wrought with tension, and has some of the best enemies’ vibes I’ve read in a long time. This book was extremely hard to put down. It’s like once I got started, I became addicted. And now I’m anxiously awaiting more. This is the first book I’ve read from this author duo, and you can be sure that I won’t stop here. This one has me officially enamored with this dark world and the authors amazing storytelling ability.
Dark romance fans need to look no further. Their next 5 star read is wrapped right in between these pages!

Once again, I was laughing out loud through this entire book! Meghan is an absolute QUEEN when it comes to writing stories that are not only funny but have a lot of heart in them too. In this one, readers will get to know JP and Kelsey as they navigate their differences concerning mean and women being able to just be friends. It’s not an easy road for either of them and their banter with each other is laugh out loud funny, but it’s worth it to us readers who enjoy seeing a little vulnerability in characters.
Overall, this is the perfect addition to the series and I’m looking forward to Breaker’s story at some point! I know it’ll be just as good as these two have been!

Sheriffs secret by K. Webster is a good MM romance. There were many parts of the story I liked and parts that were extremely problematic for me. So I’m staying in the middle with my rating and giving this a solid 3 stars.
One of the things I really loved about Sheriffs Secret is the emotion behind it. Jax is extremely conflicted about coming out of the closet and his reasonings are justified. If I had parents like his I would be TERRIFIED too. Not only that, Jax feels that his job as a small-town sheriff will be severely impacted by him coming out. His feelings are definitely warranted, and I can see the fear being a real thing. Another thing I loved is that both male leads are alpha heroes . I wasn’t sure how this would work as I got into the story but was pleasantly surprised to see these two unlikely people find love with each other. Sure, it takes a LOT to get there and the book isn’t without the angst and drama, but these two worked well together.
No there are some things I didn’t like about this book and unfortunately, they left me feeling a little bored. First and foremost, Webster shows how fear is a big motivator when it comes to coming out of the closet. We all know this is a real feeling and there’s no doubt about it. For some its easier (with the right support) and for others its one of the most difficult things they will ever do. So what’s my problem with this? Well, it seems while Jax had a hard time coming to terms with his feelings and fears, everyone else had the EASIEST time. It was all very contradicting to the point of the story. For instance, Jax’s brother also happens to be gay (as well as possibly having another brother who is bisexual). Both are proud of who they are and who they love. COOL. Dante (the other hero and love interest) ALSO has a brother who is gay ...more

Young Adult/New Adult | Enemies to Lovers | High School Romance
Dear Ava has been on my radar since it was released and I’ve waited a few months to read it because I wasn’t in the mood for another romance that blurs the bully lines. Is it me or do 2 out of 5 books have a bully theme? I feel like I see these types of books everywhere! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the trope, but sometimes you just want to see other tropes too, you know? Anyway, this one isn’t necessarily a bully romance even though the heroine IS bullied because it’s not a direct plot line. This book is much deeper than that and I wasn’t expecting it! Possible spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read it!
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD
This book deals with the aftermath of a sexual assault on the heroine, Ava. Ava was partying at a bonfire when it happened but can’t remember the specifics of that night other than she was drugged and raped. When she goes back to school for her senior year the kids pick on her for being a “snitch” and going to the cops after it happened (this is where the bullying comes in). One of the Sharks (the group of boys who run the school) has his eye on her though and makes it his mission to both protect her and act as if she’s just a charity case (she’s poor FYI and there on a scholarship). He doesn’t like how the others are treating her but won’t pretend to care either. They are after all, complete opposites: him the rich football player, and her the poor scholarship student. The two of them bicker back and forth and eventually things heat up romantically. But then someone starts to remember what happened to her that night (more importantly WHO may have done it) and thinks get dicey… What happens from there is something readers need to read, but it does play out very fast (almost TOO fast).
For the most part, I liked Dear Ava although I did feel like it was too slow in the beginning and too FAST in the end. How a book manages this is beyond me but that’s how I felt. One of the things I liked about this book is how fierce and determined Ava was. She would NOT let the sexual assault dictate her future and it didn’t. Another thing I liked was how protective Knox was. Sure, he acts like he doesn’t like her in the beginning, but we eventually find out he’s liked her all along and is just keeping up appearances. Makes sense because it’s part of the books dramatic effect. Finally, I loved the secondary characters particularly Dane even though he’s dealing with severe mental health issues.
Some of the things I didn’t like about this book is the sexual assault and its lack of effect on the story. The entire books pretty much surround this topic, but it never feels like an issue. How is that possible? Ava isn’t hurting over it like most women would (not that we can see anyway), and it’s only fleetingly discussed until the big reveal of who the perpetrator was. For some, this could be a good thing because they don’t want to know the details, but for me, I need them. I need to feel it in the bones of the book in order to connect with the characters and this didn’t happen here. It almost felt TOO RUSHED especially when we get to the end (where everything happens at the speed of lightning). The other thing I didn’t like is the lack of “showdown” between Ava and the boy who assaulted her. This could have been SO IMPORTANT for the book especially considering she went back to school for revenge. There was NO showdown. We were told what happened to him but nothing more. NOTHING. Finally, Knox came off as a great character even though the first few chapters made him all rough and tough. However, I don’t feel like I knew enough about him to really love him. Ava was well explained but Knox was only explained on a surface level. I would have loved a little bit more on what his mother did to him instead of just a few sentences. It is after all, what made him who he is.
All in all, I did enjoy the book. There were things I loved, and things I didn’t care for. I may be a little picky but what can I say? I like to give as detailed description of my likes and dislikes as I can.
If you enjoy a young adult/new adult, high school romance with an enemy’s trope then I certainly recommend this one. Most readers won’t be as picky as me and may end up loving this one wholeheartedly! ...more

Raise your hand if this cover caught your attention? It certainly did mine! I love her covers. They’re appealing to the eyes with the bold and vibrant colors! I think it’s these that actually started my reading journey with her work! There’s just something about a pretty cover that gets me every time!
Frenemies by Emma Hart is a standalone, frenemies to lovers, neighbors to lovers, second chance romance. That’s a lot of tropes rolled into one and I ADORED IT. Immy and Mason are quite the pair and watching the two with their prank wars and hilarious banter is so much fun. Immy’s grandmother is a woman after my own heart and I loved her dirty mouth, questionable choices at book club, and the way she interferes with her granddaughter’s love life. I swear, I was laughing out loud so much while reading it! In terms of the romance, theirs was pretty slow as their past was rearing it’s ugly head around every turn, but when it finally comes together for these two? FIREWORKS! I’m so glad this wasn’t an insta love story because it would have felt two easy.
All in all, this is a fantastic romcom and I cannot WAIT for Hanna’s story in Number Neighbors which releases in March. That cover, just like this one, is GORGEOUS! _________________________________________

New Adult | Enemies-to-Lovers | Emotional Romance
Brittainy C. Cherry writes books about hard topics with poise and grace. I have noticed this in each and every book she has written and it's one of the main reasons I always come back for more. She's one of the most talented authors and continuously brings her readers raw and emotional stories that everyday people can relate to in some way.
Landon & Shay- book one in the L&S duet is a deeply romantic enemies-to-lovers romance. One would think this wouldn't be possible within this trope but once again, Cherry proves her skill by making it so achingly heartwarming that the idea that these two were enemies in the beginning becomes nonexistent in our minds. To put it mildly, I was smitten by this book. I fell so deeply in love with these two characters that I read it faster than I thought I would be able to. It's not a short book either. But I breezed right through it because I was so consumed with it.
Now, as you can see, this is the first book in a duet. While most duets leave us feeling on edge because of the way they ended, this isn't the case here. This is one of the most beautiful cliffhangers I have read. It's emotional of course, but it's also extremely powerful. Readers aren't going to feel anger and angst at this ending- that is a promise. You're more than likely going to feel as if you have a full heart and smile from ear to ear. Again, Brittainy C. Cherry shows us real love through it and I am sending her virtual hugs because of it.
A little bit about the book: As I mentioned, this book DOES deal with some heavy topics. These include depression and suicide. Some may be turned off by these topics as they are hard to read about and I totally get that. But there are books out there that SHOULD be read because of topics such as these and if I could recommend any book that deal with them THIS IS THAT BOOK. It's not hard to live vicariously through these characters even though they are dealing with tough issues because of the way the author writes it. So I implore anyone who is afraid of these topics to give the book a try despite their hesitation. Cherry handles the story with utmost care and I think many people can learn a little something from Landon and Shay.
Other than this, this book falls within the new adult romance category and beings with enemies-to-lovers trope that will make your heart pitter patter. Landon and Shay are both high school students but I consider it NA instead of YA because they are 17/18 AND because of the topics at hand.
I hope readers consider this book- I can't say enough good things about it! All I can do is sum up what I got from it in these words: beautiful, heart-achingly real, and one of the best books I have ever read. I can't wait for the next book to see how everything comes together....more

Enemies-to-Lovers. Romantic Suspense. MC Romance.
I fell in love with Devney's novels from the moment I opened the first book and have been devouring each book since. Gypsy King is a little bit different than the authors previous books as it is much more suspenseful, but honestly, it's also just as good. Normally I don't care for romantic suspense novels but Devney weaves it in a way that holds my interest. I read this one in a day because of this. While I felt like there was something missing in the story (I feel like there were some major unanswered questions pertaining to the big showdown) this is still a solid read. I think fans of Devney Perry are going to really enjoy this one.
Whether she writes sweet, solid romances about second chances and undying love or a darker romantic suspense with major twists and turns, Devney NAILS it. It's becoming very clear to me as a reader that Devney can write in any trope and still leave me feeling breathless. That being said, I am very excited for the next book in the series and am hoping some of the questions I still have are thoroughly answered! ...more

Small Town | Enemies-to-Lovers | Sweet Romance
Have you ever read a book that made you fall so hopelessly in love that you wanted to live in it's world? THIS is THAT book for me. Amber Kelly is a new to me author and I am so thankful to have found this gem of a book. It's a sweet story, one that delivers in small town charm, with an exceptional set of character (including the secondary characters), and I just want to read it all over again. Rustic Hearts is a book about love. It's a book about going back to your roots, learning to forgive, and finding the blessings that surround you. Amber Kelly made me FEEL like I was living deep in Rustic Falls, and ever since I finished I feel like I'm missing some of my best friends. I adored this book so much and I really cannot recommend it enough. I wish Poplar Falls was a real place because I would be packing up my bags and moving there if it was.
As I mentioned, this book is one that dives deep into the family bond. The heroine of the story hasn't communicated with her father in over 20 years but has no choice to face him when her dear gram dies. Going back to Poplar Falls won't be easy, especially because Sophia feels like her father abandoned her for a new life, but it's necessary for healing. One she get's there though, she doesn't realize just how close these people will become to her. Especially Brax, the man she loves to hate.
This book is targeted to those who enjoy small town, enemies-to-lovers romances. However, I never really felt like they HATED each other. It was more like disdain and a little bit of curiosity mixed together. They never REALLY had fights and didn't scoff every time they were near each other, but they certainly didn't like one another off the bat either. Don't go into Rustic Hearts thinking that there will be a ton of bickering and back and forth between Brax and Sophia because that's not going to happen. I feel it's better targeted to those who love small town romances and books that surround family.
Obviously, this is a 5 star read for me. I fell in love from the beginning and had a VERY hard time putting the book down until I got to the end. I think many readers will be swept away with Rustic Hearts and I highly recommend it to all romance readers. Not only that, Dallas has the next book and I am so dang excited for it that I could BURST!...more

This book takes the enemies-to-lovers trope to a whole Release Date: September 17, 2019 Genre: Enemies-to-Lovers Romance Actual Rating: 5+ stars!
This book takes the enemies-to-lovers trope to a whole new level! WHAT A BOOK! I was laughing, I felt the heartbreak, and then was laughing some more. M. Robinson has created a genre on her own with this an emotional comedy and I fell HARD for Jackson and Harley's story! While I am bummed that I have to wait two months for the second book (yes, this one ends in a cliffy) I KNOW M. Robinson will not disappoint and the wait will be worth it.
Now, before I get into WHY I loved this book so much I want to recommend readers to read the PIERCED HEARTS DUET first . I say this because you may find this one contains spoilers for that duet. Not only that, it's frigging amazing! The Pierced Hearts duet is the first books I have read from M. Robinson and I am now head over heels in love with her writing. She writes alpha males like no other and you will LOVE the sass in her heroines! Here is the link to that duet if you are interested THE PIERCED HEARTS DUET.
Now, on to this AMAZING read.
Hated You Then is Jackson and Harley's story. If you have read The Pierced Hearts duet you will realize that Jackson is the son of the hero from those books. He's the kid with a major chip on his shoulders because of the way his family fell apart (I don't want to spoil it and TELL you what happened- you need to read it for yourself). I think his behavior is justified and normal for his situation, but he takes it to a whole new level when it comes to his arch-nemesis, Harley. These two HATE each other with a passion. They write nasty letters to each other back and forth (these letters had me laughing out loud), mercilessly tease one another, and sometimes even get physically aggressive with one another. Their hatred is THAT bad. It's been going on since they were teeny tots and hasn't let up even as they grow into teenagers.
That is, until something starts to shift...
You know how moms would tell their kids that if a boy is picking on you it's because they like you? Well, that's THIS book in a nutshell. Only much more heated!
Throughout the book we see how these two have grown together (along with their growing hatred) and readers are able to experience their lives from a very young age until the age of 16. I love how M. Robinson weaved the story this way because we really gained a sense of how they grew up together. The family dynamics also play a key role in the novel and this is why I suggest you read The Pierced Heart duet first. It will give you a lot of insight into Jackson and his behavior.
Other than this, all I can say is read this book! It's absolutely engrossing from start to finish. Again, I wish I didn't have to wait until November to see how their story will end, but it's so worth the wait! I can't wait to see what other readers think of this book when it releases in a few short days!...more

Once again, Meghan delivers a juicy and exciting read! That Forever Girl is everything I needed in a romance. The angst from the turbulent relationship between Rogan and his former flame Harper, the slow burn between them, and some humor to tie it all together. Oh, and I don't want to forget that Meghan added one of my favorite things in the whole world into the mix- a CHRISTMAS MOVIE being filmed in Port Snow! It didn't get past me that LOVEMARK was incorporated (just like Hallmark). This made me absolutely GIDDY! I love Hallmark Christmas movies and this added to my excitement to not only the book, but to the upcoming movies this season! All in all, this book is a total winner based on all these points and more.
If you're looking for a book that exudes love then you can't go wrong with a Meghan Quinn book. She writes with so much heart that it makes readers feel deeply connected to the stories and characters! I highly recommend this one- it's another 5 star winner!...more

SINGLE MOM. ENEMIES-TO-LOVERS ROMANCE. ROOMMATES-TO-LOVERS ROMANCE.
Teagan Hunter has entrapped me in her stories. Whether it be an emotional and gut wrenching read or a lighter book filled with belly laughs, she continues to enthrall me. I am consistently looking forward to reading her new releases and jump quickly at the opportunity to read her books because she knows how to make me smile. I Knead You Tonight is everything I was hoping for. I didn't feel like reading something heavy but I also wanted something that had some seriousness to it and this book encompassed both. This book deals with the difficulty of being a single parent (she wrote it with ease and truthfulness) but also of two polar opposites who, despite a LOT of resistance, begin to fall in love. The road isn't an easy one to navigate. It's rocky, hard, and at times hilarious, but it's also really sweet and heartwarming.
The characters are definitely what made this book into something special. If you read A Pizza My Heart then you will recall both Drew (she's the heroine) and Winston. Drew is Wren's best friend from the previous book and Winston her twin brother. While this book can be read as a complete standalone, I recommend reading A Pizza My Heart first if you don't want relationship spoilers from Wren's story.
Back to the characters. Drew is a little bit different than I thought she would be considering when I first "met" her in A Pizza My Heart she kind of came off as a sassy chick filled with sarcasm. In this one though, we see another side of her. One that is a bit more tender but still holds the sass and sarcasm that I came to love. I love seeing her in the role of MOM to her baby boy and the fierce protectiveness she has over him. It was also nice to see her struggle. Teagan really showed the other side of parenting, especially those who have to go at it alone. I related to Drew because of this and am so happy Teagan didn't make her as the perfect heroine with no issues because it wouldn't have worked for the story.
Winston is the grumpy hero of the story. It took me a teeny bit to like him- again I thought he was going to be this hilarious man without a care in the world (sort of like Drew) but we were able to get a deeper look at him in I Knead You Tonight. Once again, Teagan didn't write him as "perfect" but instead showed his own struggles with life making him easily relatable. He may have been grumpy, but I certainly gained and understanding to his attitude and fell in love with him because of it. Dare I say he just might be my favorite hero of Teagan's books? MAYBE!
As I mentioned, this is an enemies-to-lovers romance and Teagan wrote is PERFECTLY. Their banter, the way they "hated" each other, and their overall reactions towards one another is HILARIOUS. This is exactly what I look for in an enemies-to-lovers romance (it doesn't always have to be dark and angsty) and I smiled the whole way though!
All this being said, I really enjoyed this book and am hoping Porter (a single dad who makes minor appearances in this book) will be the star of the next one! I have a feeling I'll fall hopelessly in love with him! ...more

I fell in love with her characters in Irresistible (the first book in the series, also a standalone) and haven't been able to stop reading since! She sure knows how to write sweet, small town romances AND she can write various tropes that become readers favorites! In this one, we have an enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance, with a whole lot of heart. I loved Oliver and Chloe's story and was rooting for the two to get their HEA from the first page! Their road to love wasn't an easy one, the two had some trust issues to get through, but it was so worth it in the end!

In the past year or so I have been obsessing over Christina Lauren's romantic comedies. They always write fun stories with engaging characters, quirky story-lines, and relatable drama. In The Unhoneymooners, this writing duo tells the story of Olive and Ethan who go on a fake honeymoon together after Olive's sister and her new husband (along with the other wedding guests) get food poisoning. Sounds fun, right? It is! But what makes it so much more juicy is the fact that Ethan and Olive DESPISE each other. The banter between these two is laugh out loud funny! I was giggling throughout the story quite a bit and loved watching them argue while very slowly falling in love with one another. It takes a bit for them to get there, but I can guarantee that the journey is worth it.
If you have been a fan of the authors previous novels; specifically Roomies, My Favorite Half-Night Stand, and Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, you are going to really enjoy this one. It's not my personal favorite from them, but the book is entertaining and fun! I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an escape as you get that (and more) within this book!...more
