After so many years reading romance, I have a small group of authors whose books have a priority spot for me. Just for the Summer was magnificent. If you’re familiar with Abby, you already know what to expect: a whole lot of emotions, healing from trauma and the most swoony romance. If you’re not familiar with Abby yet, I wouldn’t recommend starting with this one. Pick Part of Your World first, you will thank me later!
I can’t believe I fell for Emma’s mom words just like Emma did. I truly believed she was getting better… so I got extra mad on Emma’s behalf when everything unraveled. If I see a single person hating on Emma for her behavior at any point of this book, I will fight. Justin and Maddy’s support was so strong and even though Emma wasn’t in the place to accept it, she could always feel protected.
I’d rather focus on the romance, though. It was amazing and I think that it rivals Alexis and Daniel’s romance for me. Justin and Emma’s connection is so genuine and perfect. It was hard for their relationship to not feel forced taking into account the circumstances of their meeting, but ever since the first DMs exchange I felt like they were meant to be. Justin is so freaking perfect. He has his own (big) baggage, and he still puts his family and Emma first and never takes his feelings out on them. I love how Abby manages everything regarding the romance and the ending was perfect. Nothing could make me love this book more.
Lastly, YAY DOUG!!! I’ve been rooting for him since POYW ...more

The overthinking, the ruminating, the replaying every social interaction... everything. I could feel it in my bones and I loved how gentle Briana was with him. The way Jacob feels like he can just be around her made me so soft. I have a few books that are my go-to recommendation when someone asks for well written anxiety rep, and this one is going to the list. I loved the fake dating and I loved the yearning Jacob and Briana felt for each other. This is a BIG slowburn, but I loved every second of it.
I was convinced this was going to be 5 stars because everything was perfect for me, but I couldn't believe the last few chapters. I can't explain what I felt because it wouldn't be fair. The book was great, and the story is beautiful, and Jacob and Briana deserved a happy ending more than anything, but this third act (well, not even third act, because it was a matter of a 10%)... I did not like it at all, especially taking the slowburn into account. I am very sad this happened. This was one of those cases where I can’t look past how mad it made me. I know from 5 to 3 stars is a lot, but when you are loving a book so much and then something you don’t like happens it feels terrible!

Cassie and Aiden were everything. The chemistry was so obvious, it felt like my Kindle was heating up. I love nanny romances, especially when they’re living in the same house. The forced proximity is always so good, but the best thing for me was to see their online interactions in the past and how much the liked each other back then… only to happen again in the present time without them realizing. I LOVE this kind of second chance in epistolary romances. Falling for the same person twice… I want it directly in my veins, thank you very much. Their communication was SO good. They handled everything with so much maturity, I found myself saying “yes, thank you” so many times out loud!
Sophie was such a sweet kid. Her rough façade fooled no one. Even though it takes her time to warm up to Cassie, the latter’s patience and love was hard to resist. The relationship of the MC with the kid(s) in a single parent romance is as important as the romance itself for me, and this book gave me an amazing development in that front.
There isn’t anything I didn’t love in this book. Wanda (Cassie’s 80-year-old bestie) was a delight, the romance was top tier, THE STEAM WAS INCREDIBLE (and recurrent)… everything served. Never a dull moment!

It was so sweet and had most of my favorite tropes: single dad, “met” through a dating app, and kind of a second chance. The setting was also a huge positive point in the story for me since I love when holiday romances are set in small towns with big, loving families.
I loved the romance between Merry and Clark. Their emails were pure gold, they made dating apps look so easy! Their conversation flowed so naturally, I couldn’t believe the same people struggled a bit to communicate face to face. However, I totally understood taking into account Clark’s past and the little misunderstanding between them when they were teens. I also adored Clark’s son, Jace. He was the sweetest kid, everyone loved him and with good reason. His bond with Merry felt very pure and special, and I loved how Merry’s family welcomed Clark, Jace and Sam into their family with open arms. The found family in this book was the best part.
I have to say that the conflict introduced in the last quarter wasn’t my favorite thing. I kinda expected it, but I think it added too much drama to a story that was doing perfectly being sweet. However, I LOVE that there is no break up due to this conflict and Merry and Clark solved it together… this is my favorite way to resolve a third act conflict!

I connAs someone who exclusively reads romance, I read tons of authors, but if you ask me who's my number one favorite... it's Tessa Bailey for sure. I connect with every book of hers I read, and I haven't read her full backlist yet. Anyway, this book has been added to my heart's favorites list.
Julian Vos is big, enormous, giant boyfriend material. He fell so hard for Hallie. He had a physically painful need to be near her even though they were total opposites and she was a tornado in his perfectly organized world, but she was exactly what he needed. His anxiety made my heart break, especially once the events that led to it were revealed. We really don't know how much we're letting out anxiety dominate our life until our schedules break, which can be scary but necessary.
Deep stuff aside... can we send Tessa her crown for being the Queen of Dirty Talk? I've said before how I love her steamy scenes because I think they're not simply sex scenes (don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with this, I LOVE those as well), but crucial moments for feelings growth and development. Her heroes are so GONE for the heroines, it's so intense and special. I love it. In this case, dirty talk aside, I loved how Julian basically worshipped Hallie's curves and rolls. They were so explosive together!
I loved this book, I truly did. It's Tessa's essence. I have to give it 4 stars because I didn't enjoy the lying by omission. It's one of the things that I don't enjoy in books (or life in general). I loved the letters, but I think it went a bit far.

i discovered this book months ago browsing some goodreads lists, and both the cover and the blurb called to me. i knew i was going to love it and i couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
a sapphic enemies who are each other’s crushes because they’ve been texting for months under secret identities to lovers? one of them being a bookstore owner and the other one evicting her on her day job but being her favorite author when she writes at night? i don’t think you understand… i’m obsessed!
i loved the book. that’s it. met online first is one of my top favorite tropes, and it was so well done here. the pacing was, in my opinion, perfect. there was a lot of time for jane and rosie to know each other and the build up of their relationship was amazing. they already had feelings but it never felt rushed or unreal because they had a solid background and once they discover who they really are, their relationship feels natural.
aside from the romance, rosie and jane’s personal stories were so great, and i have to say jane’s was so special to me. i love how she needed to take baby steps to embrace her true passion but she ended up being courageous and gaining some amazing friends in the way, and of course, the woman of her dreams. i was so emotional by the end! all of the friendships were as amazing as the romance, and that's what makes a book extra special for me, and brinkley was the cutest pup ever!

this is the year of cute, adorable and steamy holiday novellas and i am so here for it!
when chloe announced this was an enemies to lovers, epistolary workplace romance, my soul left my body for a few seconds. give me all the met online first tropes and i’ll be the happiest girl in the world. as for the other tropes… it delivers. it delivers so perfectly. gabriella is the purest sunshine ever, and even though i don’t like the holidays, she made me excited for them. if she was a real person, she would be the kind of person you love to be close to because she can make the worst day better with just a few words. no wonder why jonathan is so whipped. i’d be, too.
this is a novella but honestly, it doesn’t feel like one. maybe because it’s a (perfect) slowburn, because their banter is exquisite, or because even though it’s single pov, both of their personalities were super strong and carried the entire book, but it never felt short or rushed. well, yes, it felt short because i could read a thousand pages book about them bickering and kissing, but you know what i mean.
gabriella and jonathan were so lovable, together and separately. i can’t wait for everyone to read this gem and love it as much as i did. chloe liese is one of my absolute favorite authors, and it gets stronger with every book she writes.
