I’ve read all of Ruby’s books so I have no idea why it surprised me to feel sucker-punched while reading this one, especially the last quarter of it. Let’s start from the beginning, though…
Oh how could I understand Jasmine. Sacrificing your happiness just because you need stability and security is something I can strongly relate to so she was my favorite part of the book. The constant battle she had within herself between her feelings for Nick, her insecurities, her need to be perfect… I could read ten books with her as main character.
I have no words to describe how incredible this romance was. I panicked a lot at the beginnning because I’m usually fine with mistaken identity unless it involves lying… and it does in here. I was very scared because lying can totally ruin a book for me but I kept reading hoping that it wasn’t going to drag until the end. Gladly it didn’t, but the consequences of the lie did have an impact until the end and the angst nearly ended me. I even teared up reading the last few chapters because the sadness in Nick and Jasmine was getting to me. I love a rewarding happily ever after!

This book is ♡ Paranormal romance ♡ Age gap (+300 years) ♡ Strangers to lovers ♡ Medieval MMC ♡ The sweetest romance ♡ Dream steam (literally, in a dream)
This book is one of the most hilarious I’ve ever read! I laughed so much with Griffin. Omg, he was the absolute sweetest. A true knight in shining armor! He was cursed to be a statue in the early 15th century but being able to communicate with certain people through their dreams makes Emily able to undo the curse with a kiss. He obviously talks like a medieval man, and being thrown into modern Chicago was a shock for him but his positive attitude and sunshine personality helped him enjoy every moment, especially with Emily who he fell in love with even before he became human again.
The romance was so, so swoony. The beginning of the book shocked me, but as I continued reading I couldn’t stop loving them together. Griffin’s pure adoration for Emily was dreamy, and Emily experiencing being treated like a queen after her garbage ex-husband cheated on her was just what she deserved.
I don’t know if this is going to become a series, but whatever happens, I can’t wait for the next romance from the author!

I didn’t enjoy the romance because I didn’t see any real connection between the main characters. They hated each other and then started liking each other without any meaningful interactions, and I never felt like they actually knew each other at a deeper level.
The writing was good and the setting was very interesting, though it annoyed me how the Scottish characters spoke. Seriously, there’s no need to write their dialogues with an accent! Mentioning that they’re Scottish is enough!
I do have the ARC of the author’s second novel because it’s F/F and the synopsis really makes me want to read it. I hope I have better luck with that one.

♡ Human + Minotaur ♡ Marriage of convenience ♡ He’s her teacher/trainer ♡ Secret royal identity ♡ Found family
This was an entertaining read. I was excite♡ Human + Minotaur ♡ Marriage of convenience ♡ He’s her teacher/trainer ♡ Secret royal identity ♡ Found family
This was an entertaining read. I was excited to read it so when I got the opportunity through PRH International I said why not. I enjoyed most of it, the story was very interesting even though I don’t usually understand stories that talk about artifacts and that stuff because seriously… wtf is an artifact? Anyway, I kept reading because I loved the FMC, Aspeth, and the found family. How can I love Kipp so much when he hasn’t said a single word!? And Gwenna, Lark and Mereden. They were so cute. I had an amazing time with their scenes.
When it comes to the romance, I really liked Hawk as a character but I feel like we barely know him. Same happens to the romance. It’s a marriage of convenience and aside from the sex, they barely have any development in their relationship. Aspeth’s lies also made me reject the romance a bit. Overall, if I have to read the book for the romance only I wouldn’t have finished it, but as I said, the friendships and plot made it interesting enough to finish.

♡ Formula 1 ♡ Workplace ♡ Dislike to lovers ♡ Romanian terms of endearment
This is going to be a tough review to write. I want to begin by saying that t ♡ Formula 1 ♡ Workplace ♡ Dislike to lovers ♡ Romanian terms of endearment
This is going to be a tough review to write. I want to begin by saying that the content warnings note at the beginning of the book is like a 10% of what it should be. This book deals with some HEAVY things that to be honest, felt like a bit too much for the way it’s marketed. This isn’t a romantic comedy by any means… or even a simple contemporary romance.
That said, at the beginning of the book I could see myself enjoying the story. I really enjoy F1 romances and this one being a driver and his engineer had me super pumped, but the execution wasn’t good in my opinion. The dislike between Phaedra and Cosmin (probably the rarest names I’ve read in a book so far) was a bit too intense on her side, and there was no development that made me say ‘’oh she’s starting to like him’’. By the end of the book, I still didn’t believe she liked him aside from the sex. However, I don’t think it was a problem in the romance, but in Phaedra’s character. She was… toxic. A lot. Her friendship with Natalie made me so uncomfortable. Again, I doubt they even like each other, same as with the romance. Most of the time they were fighting (uglily) and when they weren’t fighting, they were competing and/or picking at each other. Overall, the common denominator in everything I disliked in the book was Phaedra.
Cosmin’s sister side plot was very weird and unsettling. It gave me the worst vibes and I feel like it doesn’t go with the rest of the plot since it’s quite violent and makes that side of the novel lean towards dark literature. Natalie and Klaus… I have my reservations. I am very interested in their book and will probably read it (not as ARC though), but I could see the same toxicity between them that I saw between the MCs in this book so I don’t know how this can be fixed.

Idk at this point I would let Sarah punch me in the face and I’d say thanks and probably beg her to do it again. Her books are, to quote modern Shakespeare Edward Cullen, my own personal brand of heroin.
I was so mistaken about Lacey. I had no idea why I thought she’d be shy and quiet… she’s a total spitfire and I LOVED her so much. She was brutal in the best possible way. Sam had no time to breathe around her and I think that’s so beautiful. The cover says “there’s a thin line between love and fake” and it couldn’t be more right because they say they’re fake dating but is the fake in the room with us, Sam and Lacey????? They were extremely blind to their own feelings, it was so endearing. Even Daisy didn’t understand why mom and dad were separated for long stretches of time. She was the best parent-trapper puppy ever.
I don’t exaggerate when I say that if I could instantly move to a fictional place, I’d leave for Crane Cove with my current clothes are no belongings, just take me there. The gloomy atmosphere, the people… I could be so happy there. The more I read about small towns, the more I think about how peaceful and beautiful life could be in one like the fictional ones.
I am very ready for book 4 but kind of terrified because I strongly believe it’s going to DESTROY ME.

I’ve been so excited for Aimee’s second novel! I loved her debut and the Trip♡ MMF ♡ Baseball teammates ♡ (ex) Dancer fmc ♡ Road trip ♡ No 3rd act breakup
I’ve been so excited for Aimee’s second novel! I loved her debut and the Triple Play teasers had me super excited. I love road trip romances and the poly variant has been delightful.
I started loving the book in the prologue with Felix and Shira. Omg, their chemistry was BIG. When they reunited months later I could still sense the obvious unresolved feelings between them. Blake was a perfect addition, such a sweetheart! Honestly, the three of them are the biggest cutie patooties ever. They have a long-ish emotional slowburn that I very much enjoyed, and the physical side of their relationship was amazing as well. I did love how their story is more focused on the emotional side since the three of them have issues to work through, and the importance of that didn’t get lost in the steam.
You’ll have to read this one to see what comes next, but I gotta say the announcement surprised me a lot! I am very curious about Aimee’s third book. I love a redemption arc!
