I have read this book many times, although the penultimate one was years ago. Let's say that this was the first time I've read them in e-book form.
The reading was marvellous. There were things I'd forgotten, e.g. how late Harry and Ginny got together. I'd also forgotten about most of the funeral. I'll say no more, spoilers oblige.
What this book tells me is that sadly the more conservative of readers, grammarians etc will place so many books above Harry Potter #6, none of which is worth mentioning in the same breath as Potter lore.
To me this series is special. Nobody else will undertake waiting for each book to come out and lay our hands on them. The Potter universe will belong to our descendants forever. But it was we who helped create this fervor and unmatched popularity.

Thank you, Rita! My favourite is Goblet of Fire. But book 1 has a unique charm.

I remember you saying some time back that rereading book 6 wasn't a good idea. It made me a bit sad at the time because it's my favourite. I'm glad you gave re-reading it another go 😊 I think it's the book where we start getting the notion that everything isn't as black and white as it seemed previously. For example, Malfoy's inner battle, or that Dumbledore isn't as perfect as it would have seemed.

I'm honoured that you remember that detail of mine. I was hesitant in trying another reread for HBP. While I agree Dumbledore became more gray than white, Malfoy's only saving grace was not to kill Dumbledore on the tower. But HBP is way more entertaining than the Cormoran Strike books.

Luffy - Great Review!
I loved this book and the movie. I don't remember a lot from the book because it's been a while since I read it - but the movie showed why Snape disliked James and Snape's love for Lily.

Thank you, Gina! I do agree with you about Snape. There was one point after book 5 where I realised on which side is Snape's bread buttered, to put it crudely. I remember putting a post about it somewhere - not on Goodreads.

I can imagine some people going with that choice. Can't fault you for it. It is a wonderful book.
