Homo Faber

** spoiler alert **
A bit of a disappointment, after the reading of "Stiller". The subject matter is fascinating enough: a hyperrationalistic technician clashes with real life, and gets a completely different look on the world. But the way this is presented by Frisch is so unlikely: 50-year-old falls in love with 23-year-old, that later turns out to be his daughter, and then shortly afterwards dies after a snake bite. In addition, the style is very rudimentary, with short, moody, impassive phrases (consciously perhaps, as the view of an empty main character), but sometimes this works very repellent.

Met alle respect Marc, maar zijn er niet wat veel spoilers in je review? Ik bedoel maar, ik heb nu precies niet echt meer zin om dit boek te lezen. Ach, misschien maar goed ook ;)
