TYPES OF CHALLENGES
❶ Spell-It-Out: These challenges spell out a word. Then for each letter read books with titles, series names, authors (first or last names) that begin with letters that correspond to the word you choose. Some challenges allow you to use characters (first or last names), too. You may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.)
It is nice if you indicate near the top what your goal is and how many books you’ve read, even if it is as simple as the example below. (Three books read out of a goal of four.)
Some people also use check-marks to show they've read the book. Some people indicate their star rating. Most at least add dates and it is nice to add a bookcover link, too.
We provide at least three cards to choose from, plus the alternative of Anything Goes . In that last one you see if you get a B.I.N.G.O. from anything you can match from the three cards. Sort of a make your own B.I.N.G.O. by seeing if you get five in a row by choosing spaces from the three different cards, without moving the items around.
We will be adding more descriptions and examples of other challenges. These challenges are a little more specific, in that we provide a “key” to each space, which have an item, theme, or color of bookcover you need to find. Center square is always “free space” or “Reader’s Choice.”
He took me to the Blue Diablo, an old renovated theater, to see Casablanca in downtown Montreal. Where we were served Chocolates, as much as we wanted, at our table. At the end of our movie, we went for a walk and we made small talk till we got to the Vieux-Port, where we stopped to watch the fireworks and eat our chocolates leftovers. On our way back to his car, he bought me a Blue Dahlia to match my eyes, he said.

Sort of a make your own B.I.N.G.O. by seeing if you get five in a row by choosing spaces from the three different cards, without moving the items around.
Example of a B.I.N.G.O. Challenge❹ Author or Series Challenge: These challenge fall under the Monthly/Seasonal Challenges and will be put in that folder. With these you agree to read a certain number of these books as they come up each month, or when the next one is ready to be discussed. Special Note: These are different than our Featured Series Reads because of this challenge; that is why they are in a different folder. In Featured Series Reads you may jump in where you left off in a series. You may do so with the books read under Author or Series Challenge; however, you won’t be in the challenge part of it.

We have been participating in The Single Player Novel Role Playing Game for ALL of 2015. You read at your own pace and do only those challenges that you want to.
You get to build your strength, battle monsters and collect pets like Horses, Rabbits, Puppies, Falcons and Pet Rocks --all of which aid you in the game.
The Game was so well designed and creative that the many participants begged the Mods to keep the game going in 2016. It's like all the best quests are included in this game.
The Theatre and the Tavern encourage active daily communication between the players and group challenges get everyone working as a team. A GREAT WAY to meet other readers and challenge your mind while reading the books that you like.
To level the new players with the old, I think that there will incentives to encourage newbies to join like starter packs or credit for a number of books from 2015 to be carried forward into 2016.
Join now BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2016 and ALL YOUR BOOKS FROM 2015 count!
Tell your friends--ALL are welcome.
See the following link: start with rules then come to the Tavern for a drink and to ask any questions that you might have. People check in daily throughout the day but around 1:30 pm EST is the best time to catch people.

My Idea is for a yearly challenge. You take a song and then you read books that have each word of the song in the Title. For example: Taken from You Should Be Here by Cole Swindell
You take the book and find the words from the lyrics in the titles of the books. You can spell the letter out using different words in the title, but they all have to be found in the title.
It's - It's Kind of a Funny Story
Perfect - Perfect Chemistry
Outside - Outside
Its - It's Not Summer Without You
Like - Snow Like Ashes
God - The God Delusion
Let - Let it Snow
Me - Shatter Me
Dial - Drunk Dial
Up - Falling Up
The - The Hunger Games
Weather - Strange Weather

Thanks Jessica for the idea. I 'll take it to the mod squad and see what they say. We are all in different time zones and some of the mods are quite busy with RL so it may take a few days ( or more) before we get back to you!

Each month, we also attempt to post one new monthly challenge, with others occasionally thrown into the mix as inspiration strikes us.
The challenges listed under our "Monthly/Seasonal Challenges" section are devoted to a one, two, or three month time-frame (ie a July challenge, an August challenge, etc.; sometimes we'll combine months, if the challenge is, in fact, more challenging than usual), or make it a seasonal challenge. Additionally, we have some challenges devoted to a month's time frame (but not limited to a specific month) onward and upwards to a year's time frame.
We usually give you the option of different ‘levels of play,’ which combined with time-frames can be used as a way to gauge your progress.
‘Levels of play’ are usually related to the number books or difficulty of the categories (such as the type of book you need to find). We usually have at least three ‘levels of play,’ and often more.
Time-frames: Although we list duration periods for every challenge, they are not set in stone. If you need more time to finish a challenge than is allotted, then please feel free to customize it to whatever time-frame with which you feel comfortable. Just set yourself a start and end date. We hope you will find at least one or two challenges that you like.
However, some people like to use our Extension "Gift Card" for NBRC Challenges to extend the length of their challenges, so you will see them post their cards. These were presented during the winter holidays. While our annual gift cards expired on May 31, 2014, some people applied them to some of their monthly and seasonal challenges. Others to our yearly and other time-frame challenges that can be found under our Reading Challenges Index. Lists: We often provide you with a list of items; they are presented simply to give you ideas. If there is something not on them that you feel would be a perfect fit, then by all means feel free to substitute.
Speaking of lists, don’t forget GoodReads’ listopia for help in finding a certain type of book. Sometimes we add helpful links to the ones we’ve found.
