Beware the Boo Brigade is the fourth level of World 2 in Yoshi's New Island. The level debuts Boos, Big Boos, and other ghost-like enemies including Grim Leechers and Boo Blahs as well as Piro Dangles and Door Heihōs. The spinning Arrow Lift also makes its first appearance in the game. This level's playable Yoshi is the yellow Yoshi.

Layout[edit]

Yellow Yoshi battles Kamek.
“Silly Yoshikins. Give up the baby already, or I'll be forced to blast you sky-high!”
Kamek, Yoshi's New Island

Yellow Yoshi starts the level in a fort with an Egg Block and a single Boo, with a hidden Winged Cloud containing the level's first Smiley Flower. Past the first Spinner is a Big Boo and a Grim Leecher, with a lone platform containing some coins and Red Coins. Right before the level's second Big Boo is a Winged Cloud that produces a group of coins when hit. Past the second spinner is a hidden Winged Cloud that spawns coins and the second Smiley Flower of the level. A Door Heihō, shortly after an area with Boo Blahs pops up from the ground, runs to the right, and drops the pink door it is carrying if defeated. Entering a nearby pink door causes Yellow Yoshi to appear in an area with blue smiley face blocks which rotate in a set direction, similar to their appearance in Big Beanie's Castle, though there are two sets of smiley face blocks rather than one. Eventually, Yellow Yoshi reaches an area with an Arrow Lift that can be used to transport him to the Checkpoint Ring. Right before the Checkpoint Ring is a pink door that leads to a dark room with Piro Dangles as the main enemy, and the room contains Winged Clouds that spawn coins and the level's fifth Smiley Flower.

After another Arrow Lift ride with Boos being the primary enemies, Yellow Yoshi reaches the boss door. Inside waits Kamek, who must be launched into the ceiling by pounding the stake he is standing on three times in order for Yellow Yoshi to defeat him and clear the level.
