Teleporter (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door)
- This article is about the teleporter from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. For the teleporter from Super Mario Galaxy 2, see Teleporter (Super Mario Galaxy 2).
A teleporter is a teleporting object that appears in the game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. One is found in the X-Naut Fortress, and the other is in a secretly located room in Rogueport Underground, which the player can use to travel between. It was used by Grodus, Lord Crump and the X-Nauts to transport themselves between Rogueport and their fortress on the moon.
After defeating the Magnus von Grapple 2.0, Mario and co. find TEC-XX, who uses some of the abandoned fortress's electricity to reactivate himself after Grodus deactivated him during the Chapter 6-7 interlude. He explains that Peach is in the Palace of Shadow, and requests that Mario save her; though Mario and his partners gladly accept, there was no way to leave the fortress or the moon. After giving his final wish and hearing Mario's words, TEC sacrificed all his energy to transfer it to the teleporter room, which Mario used to return to Rogueport.
Once Mario teleports, TEC can be heard in space. Mario's partner will ask if they heard anything (referring to TEC), though Mario will say no. Then it breaks down and the fortress explodes, leaving Mario and his friends unable to go back to the moon until the final boss is defeated.
