Advice[edit]

Try not to edit a single page so many times in a row because it floods the recent changes. Marshal Dan Troop (talk)

Reminder[edit]

Please stop not marking minor edits as minor on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

I saw a few of you edits like the one on this page and the edit wasn't marked as minor. This may be accidental though if this continues purposely, you'll receive a warning thanks also here are forms of minor edits so you don't make the same mistake in the future.Fawful's Minion 20:07, 22 April 2016 (EDT)

  1. Removing very little words
  2. Adding or changing words
  3. Fixing spelling
  4. Putting full stops
Hey Fawful's Minion, maybe you should informally remind this guy first then give him a reminder if he doesn't stop. By the way, this user has been here for quite a while, pretty sure he knows what he's doing. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 20:01, 22 April 2016 (EDT)

RE:Quotation marks and commas.[edit]

I guess info has changed over the years or something (like with the Oxford Comma situation I had earlier). I was taught (in about third grade as well, circa 2003-04) that if quotation marks are used when naming something, (i.e. The name of the game is "Super Mario Run".) the punctuation would fall outside of the name because it isn't part of the name. You've provided some good examples, but I don't see any of them quite describing the situation in question here. It makes more sense to me to have the punctuation fall outside of quotation marks when they aren't actually part of the name, but do you have any other sources that say otherwise (or point me to the proper location in one you have already provided in case I missed something)? Most of the sources provided state explicitly that "in all cases" (except for one or two that clearly don't apply here), periods and commas go inside of quotation marks. I don't see any reasonable way that that can not be considered as "describing the situation in question here."
On the other hand, it occurs to me that the reason you can't find the examples you're looking for might be that quotation marks shouldn't even be getting used here in the first place -- the preferable way to mark titles is often with Italics, and upon looking again at the template, I'm pretty sure that's what we want for both of these. I've changed it accordingly. -TPIRFanSteve (talk) 00:19, 30 March 2017 (EDT)
Yes, that looks much better. Stupid quotation marks were throwing everything off :P Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 10:43, 30 March 2017 (EDT)
