Motivation
[edit]This is an identifier for the biographical encyclopedia of the Austrian Cartellverband, an organization which is only in part captured by the definition “Catholic male student fraternity”. It’s an organiziation for conservative all-male elites that was (and still is, to a much lesser extent) one of the prime career networks for conservative politicians, civil servants, academics and clergymen. While the entries are somewhat biased, they mostly get their facts straight. This identifier would provide an interesting insight into high-level and mid-level Austrian elites.
Note: The IDs have been stable for quite some time, but they changed their website so newer entries can’t be accessed by the MnM scraper.
