- I think we could model this in the other direction, and have the item for the era point to the ruler using named after (P138). --Yair rand (talk) 17:15, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- IMHO named after (P138) is used to indicate where the name itself comes from. For example, the era name "Heisei" (平成) is actually named after "nai hei gai sei" (内平外成), a phrase from Records of the Grand Historian (Q272530), not Emperor Akihito (Q37979) himself. In a somewhat similar sense, I.K. Bonset (Q1894655) is named after a Dutch pharse "Ik ben zot", not the person Theo van Doesburg (Q160422).--Stevenliuyi (talk) 21:19, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
