Requested edit
[edit]Today (Wednesday July 22) Frey has launched a new startup company called "Deep Genomics" which will specialize in analyzing DNA with Deep learning mathematical techniques, for organizations involved in medical research or individualized medical treatment. There's an article about this in a major Canadian newspaper:
- "Toronto startup aims to shake up genome sequencing market". IVAN SEMENIUK, The Globe and Mail, Jul. 22, 2015.
There's also an article in the Washington Post, the text of which appears in other papers too, and so may be a press release, although it has an author listed:
- "Meet Deep Genomics, a start-up bringing the power of deep learning to genomics". Washington PostBy Matt McFarland July 22 2015.
Frey's computational analysis techniques have also been written about previously in the Globe and Mail:
- "Unlocking DNA secrets with a Canadian genome search engine". Carolyn Abraham, The Globe and Mail, December 18, 2014.
I would add this information myself, but I am closely related to a person who is connected with this new company, so I have a conflict of interest.—Anne Delong (talk) 17:49, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
- Done. The articles are a bit scarce on details on what the company is going to do exactly, but I guess you can that yourself if you know more. —Ruud 09:54, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
