What exactly was his affiliation?
[edit]He seems to have switched parties multiple times while in Parliament. Montgomeryshire (UK Parliament constituency) says that he was a Whig until 1834 and then a Conservative, yet he participated in a Tory government from 1822 to 1828. There is also mention of an attempt to found a third party; what was this party called, and for how long did it attempt to operate? Did he actually defect to the Conservatives in 1834 or simply join their cabinet as a Whig member? —Cuiviénen 19:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
