Fisker Coachbuild
[edit]For your information, there is currently an Article for deletion vote regarding the Fisker Coachbuild car manufacturer here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fisker. You may wish to comment on this. --Edcolins 08:59, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
Article name
[edit]Given that this is the English Wikipedia, shouldn't this article redirect to "Frankfurt Motor Show", rather than the other way around? --DeLarge 14:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Links to other Wikipedia sites not showing up
[edit]Does anyboy know why the links to the version of this article in other languages is not showing as it should? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kudelv (talk • contribs) 07:07, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]Rather than just "being bold", I'm taking this to WP:Requested moves. However, given that Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) says "use the most commonly used English version of the name for the article", and "Frankfurt Motor Show" gets 1.7 million Ghits, I don't think it's particularly controversial. --DeLarge 09:34, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've moved the page, per your request. -GTBacchus(talk) 23:07, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Alternating with Geneva. ?
[edit]The text mentions that the Frankfurt show used to alternate with the truck show in Hannover. For those of us more interested in cars than trucks, and for automakers wanting to launch a new model at a motor show, I dimly remember it was more to the point that in years when there was no Frankfurt Motor Show there was in stead - somewhere round March - the Geneva motor show. Does anyone have a clearer memory - better still a source - on how Frankfurt and Geneva used to alternate? Thanks in anticipation for any thoughts. Regards Charles01 (talk) 06:52, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

[edit]- Trimmed "External links" per policies and guidelines. Added here in case some can be incorporated into the article.
- Frankfurt 2011 Virtual Tour
- Photos: 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show
- Exclusive photos from the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show Which? Car
- West Coast Midnight Run, Vol. 2009, The Frankfurt International Automotive Show
- 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show highlights -- Otr500 (talk) 13:22, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- Which policies and guidelines? Can you explain why these were deleted? Stepho talk 13:25, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- The article had seven "External links" when 3 or 4 (usually max) has long been considered (I have been around over 10 years) normal practice. When the section, and even the appendices over all, become bloated it is time to trim.
- 1)- WP:LINKFARM (policy), "excessive lists",
- 2)- WP:External links, specifically WP:ELPOINTS, #3 (content guideline), "...section should be kept to a minimum".
- 3)- WP:ELNO #10 (content guideline) also referred to as WP:NOSOCIAL such as Flickr, the Photo & Video Sharing "Social Networking Site".
- 4)- WP:ELNO #13 (content guideline), can be argumentative but the subject is "International Motor Show Germany", not a particular year, so *"2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and virtual tour" is about a specific "year" (as is 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show highlights) on an article that spans what appears to be 34 years. The "External links" section for this article should not point out one particular year as it slants toward #5 below,
- 5) WP:ELPOV (content guideline), "Avoid undue weight on particular points of view"
- 6)- WP:ELMIN (content guideline), "Minimize the number of links". -- Otr500 (talk) 20:36, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't go too deep but the Flickr site could be WP:COPYVIOEL. -- Otr500 (talk) 20:49, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
