Categories and proper article names

[edit]

Sorry, but this article does not belong into categories Pan movements and Pseudoscience.

First, Pan-nationalism implies that any given national group strives to unite all territories populated by one ethnic group into one large state. This is not the case with nationalisms of diasporic peoples, such as Jews or Gays. The ideology of Gay nationalism is directed towards creation of a national identity and establishment of a state-like entity, not towards large territorial possessions.

Second, research on nationalism is a well-established branch of social sciences. Why on Earth shall it be categorized as a pseudo-science?

The gay and lesbian liberation movement' (and not gay rights movement) was intended when this article was written. The liberation of a people means much more than simple legal equality. Wikipedia's article on gay liberation is indeed labeled "Gay rights", but this is not really a good reason to change the wording of the article on Gay nationalism. Unsourced Material

[edit]

"The gay and lesbian national movement resembles the Jewish emancipation movement and orients itself with the ideas of Theodor Herzl.

The emancipation through formation of national identity, as suggested by the "separatist" groups, finds relatively little response within the official (integrative) Queer-Theory. This movement is increasingly put into question by the research on nationalism."

Both of these statements are unsourced, the second sentence being entirely subjective, the first one being of dubious research.
