Changes

[edit]

I had to modify this article because it was stated that unregistered cohabitation in Croatia is the same for heterosexual and homosexual couples, which is simply not true. It wasn't mentioned that unregistered cohabitation for same-sex couples is not part of the family law, which obviously makes all the difference. All the other laws concerning family do not include same-sex couples, and stating that they are the same with heterosexual couples is seriously misleading for all the people who will take this article seriously for their personal or professional research. I have corrected this now, and all the information is accurate, but keep in mind that Croatia will have registered partnerships very soon, so I will change the article according to what the new laws says. Thank you all

UPDATE:

I have added paragraph about LGBT parenting because some people already wanted to include several things related to this issue. And respecting what they want, I have simply added this paragraph here. Adoption will obviously be part of law regulations dealing with same-sex relationships, so there it is. Once Croatia legalizes partnerships I will obviously keep this article up to date, and add first paragraph that articles dealing with this issue usually have.

I write and update articles about LGBT rights in Croatia because I am very well familiar with this issue, and follow everything that is going on. This also enables me to be neutral and to write truth and facts. I was shocked how much lies these articles contained before I got here. so please, don't change or add anything before you really think that through and have all the facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 11raccoon1 (talkcontribs) 17:30, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE 17 MAY 2013

If we are going to have a bit about same-sex marriage is fine, but I had to change it as what you have written is already mentioned in much more detail in the main article, and we cannot have an inconsistent paragraph here, and more detail in the main article. So I had to give the full history of same-sex marriage in Croatia, which is obviously not legal, nor are there any signs of it being legal in the near future. Also, the research is fine, but if you have 55% people saying yes, then you must have 45% saying no, as the source doesn't define what happened to the rest of the people.

---

The poll explicitly says that 55,3% of respondents support the initiative, while 31,1% are against. We have a source for that (http://www.vecernji.hr/vijesti/55-3-posto-hrvata-brak-zene-muskarca-ustavu-clanak-565686). So I changed it. The rest of the respondents probably answered that they were not sure, or didn't even answer.

I also think that it is not necessary to mention "celebrities", because they are not relevant in this article. The article is about legal recognition of same sex unions, so it should be focused on political support.--Emir234 (talk) 11:25, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's fine. Just the poll is inconsistent as it didn't actually tell what happened with opinions of almost 15% of those 1300 people. But we'll keep it as it is until such time we find something better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 11raccoon1 (talkcontribs) 15:18, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Referendum

[edit]

I think there should be a separate page about the marriage referendum now when we're sure it's going to take place on Dec 1st. I'm not so experienced in making articles so someone else should do it. --Emir234 (talk) 12:27, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article 82 of the Life Partnership Act (effective date)

[edit]

I would like to ask someone who is a Croat to present the correct translation of Article 82 of the law here, because translation via Google Translator is confusing (says that the law takes effect on the day of publication, not 8 days later). Ron 1987 (talk) 07:53, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
