[edit]I would be deleting the image given as the party symbol as it is only used sometimes as a party flag. The electoral symbol of the party is the bicycle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gurubrahma (talk • contribs) 08:15, 8 July 2005 (UTC)

Copyediting of article
[edit]I have been briefly scanning through this article and for a person whose first language is English, there are certain phrases and terms which I cannot understand (such as "mandals"). Some of the words in the article also appear to be used out of context. I will carry out an amendment of some of the text to improve its context, and removal of words which may limit the scope of this article to people of Telugu descent.
An issue of neutrality does exit with this article, as it contains no references and only links to the party website. I will attempt to find other sources in relation to the party. Any help in doing this would be greatly appreciated.
Most of the edits to the article are by unregistered members, so I have been unable to leave messages on the relevant talk pages.
If there is anything I can help with please message me and i'll be happy to help.

- Whilst looking for reliable sources for this page I have discovered that article appears to have been directly copied from the "About Us" page of the Telugu Dessam Parties website. The text has been not been changed and every word of the article is the same as is on the webpage. The article can not be left in its current state and needs to be rewritten in order for the article not to contribute plagiarism.
- The webpage can be found at the following address http://www.telugudesam.org/tdpcms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=25&Itemid=28.
- I assume this has been done in good faith by an editor who is unaware of Wikipedia's guidelines for writing articles. I found the following guides really helpful when I was starting out on Wikipedia:
- Any help in fixing the article would be appreciated. If there is anything I can help with just message me and I'll be happy to help.

- I recommend the article be rewritten and de-plagiarized before it is re-submitted for copyediting. Also, if there are secondary media sources outside of the party itself that explain the party principles, perhaps include interviews from its leaders as well as their campaigns. It does not need to have every mission statement bullet listed, just highlight the most important ones from the platform that have impacted politics and culture. -AngusWOOF (talk) 01:44, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for your advice. I will rewrite this article as recommended and then resubmit it for copy-editing. Due to my current commitments this may take a few weeks to be done.
- Regards
- I have had to remove the majority of the text due to WP:PLAG issues as the text has been copied from the parties website mentioned above. Please do not revert this as I am currently rewriting the page in my sandbox, and it should be ready to be updated shortly.
- If anybody has any questions please message me and I will be happy to help.

(Co)Founder is Nadendla Bhaskara Rao
[edit]Although NTR is the main person for all the purposes, Nadendla Bhaskara Rao is one of the co-founders for this party. This wiki doesn't even mention his name.

Proposed merge of List of presidents of the Telugu Desam Party into Telugu Desam Party
[edit]Reason: List of presidents can be shown in the main article rather than having a separate article (since it is the important part of this entity) 456legend(talk) 04:21, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 10:32, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
Proposed merge of Telugu Desam Party, Telangana into Telugu Desam Party
[edit]The Telangana TDP being the state unit of Telugu Desam Party is not notable enough for a separate article. See WP:BRANCH — DaxServer (t · m · c) 20:29, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Even if it is not right now, going into the future that article will get longer as it contests more elections in Telangana. It should be left separate. Rupkayak (talk) 09:15, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose: There are parties whose state units have separate articles. I would suggest listing the article to related Wikiprojects and marking it as a stub. It might help in expanding it. Shaan SenguptaTalk 13:05, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- Support: This is a minor party operating in two states only and there is insufficient content to justify two separate articles.--Jay942942 (talk) 11:24, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose: It should be left separate. RevenueDPT (talk) 13:01, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
N. T. Rama Rao era (1983–1995)
[edit]This entire section needs to be rewritten. It's grammar and POV are really weird, and some sentences make no sense. Along with this a lot of it is unsourced. Thanks 🤓 WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 🤓 01:17, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
