Corea and Vietnam
[edit]IMHO this article needs some substantial additions (by someone who is able to edit them) regarding Combat Controllers in the Corean War and the Vietnam War. THX in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.12.81.139 (talk) 15:57, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- Lol, that's actually what I'm doing right now, I JUST added the World War II history bit so don't worry, more is on the way.— dain- talk 16:09, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
The history section
[edit]History section is seriously deficient. Forward air control began during World War I (see Benno Fiala Ritter von Fernbrugg); American participation began with Billy Mitchell's experiments. American forward air controlling continued in the Banana Wars, though it took until 1944 for FACing to be used in World War II. Then there was its next reinvention for the Korean War....

- Keep in mind though that this isn't an article on Forward Air Control, this is an article on the U.S. Air Force Combat Control Teams. History of Forward Air Control should be on the Forward Air Control article and history of Combat Control Teams on the CCT article. U.S. Air Force Combat Control Teams trace their heritage to Army Pathfinder units during World War II. However, if you can find any WP:RS that reference U.S. Air Force Combat Control Teams' to Forward Air Control in World War I or the Banana Wars then by all means add them. Otherwise it's just WP:OR. Whereas the beginning of CCTs has references stating the units trace their heritage to different units in World War II. — dainomite 04:14, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
