Aarhus
[edit]- ... that Aarhus (waterfront pictured) is the second-largest city in Denmark?
- Reviewed: Not a self-nomination
Improved to Good Article status by Dr. Blofeld (talk), RhinoMind (talk), Ipigott (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 00:08, 3 August 2014 (UTC).
- Hook is not riveting (it's in the number one position for many things so why pick a number two); there's plenty of more interesting facts to choose from, for example:
- ALT1 ...that Aarhus (pictured) became Århus in 1948 and in 2010 it became Aarhus again?
- ALT2 ...that, in 1944, a precision bombing raid on the Gestapo headquarters in Aarhus (pictured) destroyed all their files?
- ALT3 ...that Aarhus (pictured) in the north of Denmark has an Eastern-inspired bazaar?
(I find the article's mix of translations and the original Danish names for place names weird, but that is not a DYK matter) Belle (talk) 10:45, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
