[edit]The Canadian Army reverted to Brithish rank insignia for general officer ranks on 18 Sept 2015. Other ranks continue to use the unification rank insignia. This template should not change ahead of the army. CdnMCG (talk) 04:58, 29 September 2014 (UTC) Please note that, effective July 2013, the Canadian Army was approved to adopt "Traditional Rank Insignias". They are the same as the British Army, except for the rank of Brigadier General/Brigadier. Although all rank insignias have yet to be worn, the official rank insignia have now changed (see http://www.forces.gc.ca/en/honours-history-badges-insignia/rank-army.page for official pictures). Note the pips/stars on the General Officers ranks are wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rifles1 (talk • contribs) 22:02, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Shoulder stripe
[edit]@Oknazevad: I agree with the collar flashes being roughly equivalent to the sleeve stripe, but the 265 considers it as rank insignia as well, rather than a gorget which is a sign of command, I suppose. --Kingdom of Baustralia (talk)
- The big reason I removed it was to improve alignment with the other insignia on the NATO and Commonwealth charts. Speaking of which, I noticed you reverted Wolf Child's de-piping of the link. That was done so that this chart, when used at the Canadian Armed Forces ranks and insignia page properly identified which command was which, as we alcant assume that the colors being the main difference is known to the unfamiliar reader. There's some other questions floating around on that talk page that could use some broader input if you wish to contribute. oknazevad (talk) 02:36, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
