"Knowledge should be free, open and accessible to all and technology or language should not a barrier"
About me
I joined the Wikipedia movement in 2010, focusing on offline outreach events and activities. My primary interest is making knowledge freely accessible, regardless of technology or language barriers. I have organized over 50 TEDx events in underprivileged communities and conducted more than 100 Wikipedia offline workshops in local languages to promote Wikipedia.
In addition to my work with Wikipedia, I have experience with multilateral organizations like the United Nations and collaborations with institutions such as MIT Media Lab, Harvard, and the University of Virginia. My roles involved developing communication strategies and contributing to various projects.
I am passionate about making knowledge accessible to all. My efforts extend beyond Wikipedia to various global initiatives, reflecting my commitment to education and community empowerment. I also enjoy helping Wikimedia affiliates, user groups, and chapters grow and succeed in their missions.
I believe Wikipedia is a crucial part of society, and it is essential to keep it growing. By democratizing knowledge and providing free access in over 300 languages, Wikipedia ensures that everyone, regardless of background or location, can benefit from reliable information.
My journey with Wikipedia and my broader professional experiences reflect a dedication to knowledge dissemination and community service. Whether through offline workshops, international communications, or supporting Wikimedia affiliates, I believe everyone should have access to reliable information.
My work
I lead multiple Wikipedia projects, including the Wikipedia SWASTHA initiative. SWASTHA is a specialized project aimed at promoting healthcare awareness among local communities in collaboration with existing healthcare affiliates. Our goal is to provide accurate health information in multiple languages on Wikipedia.
In addition, I serve as the Vice Chair of the Wikimedia Foundation's Elections Committee. This committee is responsible for overseeing elections to the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation and the Wikimedia community.
I am also a Grants Committee Member for the Wikimedia Foundation. In this role, I help oversee the distribution of funds to various Wikimedia affiliates and projects, ensuring effective use of resources to further the Foundation's mission.
