I am just a Canadian male with a reasonable amount of education and common sense that I like to apply to a wide variety of subjects. I speak English and French but have basic knowledge of several other languages and a general interest in cultures of all sorts.
Wikipedia is great in that it has some place for reasonable discussion to provide accurate and comprehensive information to the general public. Without being too much of a cynical sceptic, I feel that publishing houses are as vulnerable as the general public to pushing unsubstantiated ideas based on popular rumour or even outright propaganda. This said, I feel there is a great deal of inaccuracy in numerous Wikipedia articles. I hope to contribute to a bettering of articles for which I have significant personal knowledge.
-Abundance of double standards to reflect the views of majorities to the detriment of minorities.
-Acceptance of questionable information based on references that do not substantiate the position.
-Labeling of the challenge of accepted information as the demonstration of a personal agenda.
-Inability of many contributors to accept that it is a contribution to truth to sometimes state that we simply do not know.
