Black Belt Eagle Scout is the solo musical project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Katherine Paul. After moving to Portland in 2007, she got involved with the D.I.Y. music scene and began playing drums and singing in various bands. Paul started Black Belt Eagle Scout in 2016, releasing her album Mother of My Children in August 2017 on Good Cheer Records. The album was re-released on Saddle Creek on September 14, 2018.[1]

Katherine Paul was born in Anacortes, Washington[2] and was raised in the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community located in Washington. Listening to grunge and riot grrrl bands such as Nirvana and Hole as a teen, Paul taught herself to play guitar around the age of 13 and began attending D.I.Y. shows in Anacortes.[1]
