I've been using Wikipedia since it had an impressive 40,000 article count, inspired by the potential of a free source of knowledge for all. On Wikipedia, I mostly handle articles on Judaism and Computer Science.
I consider myself a Jew with mystical leanings. My favorite Jewish philosophy is tikkun olam (fixing the world), which is the obligation of every Jew to promote social justice, and ultimately bring the world to utopia.
I am interested in situations where religion and science intermingle. As such I am an avid believer using science, and especially Computer Science, as a tool to reach the singularity.
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." -- Albert Einstein, Physicist
"Let an ultraintelligent machine be defined as a machine that can far surpass all the intellectual activities of any man however clever. Since the design of machines is one of these intellectual activities, an ultraintelligent machine could design even better machines; there would then unquestionably be an ‘intelligence explosion,’ and the intelligence of man would be left far behind. Thus the first ultraintelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever make, provided that the machine is docile enough to tell us how to keep it under control." -- I. J. Good, Computer Scientist and Mathematician
"I will insist the Hebrews have [contributed] more to civilize men than any other nation. If I was an atheist and believed in blind eternal fate, I should still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the most essential instrument for civilizing the nations ... They are the most glorious nation that ever inhabited this Earth. The Romans and their empire were but a bubble in comparison to the Jews. They have given religion to three-quarters of the globe and have influenced the affairs of mankind more and more happily than any other nation, ancient or modern." -- John Adams, 2nd President of the United States
"Let me tell you something that we Israelis have against Moses. He took us 40 years through the desert in order to bring us to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil!" -- Golda Meir, Israeli Prime Minister
"Too many of us look upon Americans as dollar chasers. This is a cruel libel, even if it is reiterated thoughtlessly by the Americans themselves." -- Albert Einstein, Physicist
