Speedy deletion declined: Kavita kane

[edit]

Hello Υπογράφω, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Kavita kane, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: sufficient importance asserted, not a candidate for A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 11:00, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This was the article content at the time I tagged A7. Fortunately the article was subsequently expanded beyond the infobox. I agree that notability is now asserted; thanks for removing the CSD tag! Υπογράφω (talk) 16:01, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Swarm-Bruteforcer

[edit]

I see that in this edit you proposed deletion (PRODded) for the article Swarm-Bruteforcer. However, I had already done that, here, and the creator of the article had contested the proposal here. I don't know whether you didn't notice that, or whether, being a fairly new editor, you didn't know that Wikipedia's deletion policy is that PROD is only for uncontroversial deletions, and since if anyone removes a PROD tag it is not uncontroversial, the tag should never be restored. Instead, if anyone still wishes to have the article deleted, it should be taken to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion (unless it qualifies for speedy deletion). I have therefore removed your PROD, and taken the article to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Swarm-Bruteforcer. You may like to comment there. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:14, 20 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, I overlooked the prior PROD. Thanks for correcting that. Υπογράφω (talk) 02:03, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Invalid mark for speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi Υπογράφω, and thanks for patrolling the new pages! I am letting you know that Xat (Chat) should not be marked for speedy deletion as it contains information about it's significance (Alexa rating, 12m, etc).

If you have any questions, please create a new section on my talk page. --Tanner708 (talk) 01:39, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Xat

[edit]

Hi Υπογράφω,

Although there isn't coverage of xat by news articles, there are plenty of videos made from 2007-present by all types of different users. If it is being used by tens of thousands and is a registered company, it should have it's own wikipedia page.

There isn't a lot of coverage on various other articles on Wikipedia, however, due to their popularity, they are made. Take a look here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=xat+chat , hundreds upon hundreds of videos involving xat, and it is independent.

Thanks, and I hope you reconsider. --Tanner708 (talk) 02:06, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am unsure of what to do, as xat is a very popular site, and even has its own wikipedia article in Spanish. There has to be another way, as xat isn't covered by news sites or referenced in books. --Tanner708 (talk) 02:19, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have found a book referencing xat many times and will reference that. I will remove the notability notice. --Tanner708 (talk) 03:02, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Since you're an admin (I think), could you go over xat (Chat) and tell me if it has it's significance and notability that's required? I referenced the book which talks about xat. --Tanner708 (talk) 01:35, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NPR

[edit]

Hi. I have changed the CSD criterion at SEO Challange. We appreciate your enthusiasm but maintenance tasks, especially reviewing new pages where also the creator will often need to be blocked, are not for beginners. Please read and thoroughly understand WP:NPR and follow all the links in it. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:24, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'm familiar with the criteria. The page could have been speedily deleted under either G11 or A7. Υπογράφω (talk) 07:41, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD on PhpPgAdmin

[edit]

Good Day, I removed your PROD tag on the PhpPgAdmin because the article had previous PROD in December 2016. "Log for PhpPgAdmin". Since an article can only have one PROD I moved it to AFD. You may like to comment there. "Articles for deletion/PhpPgAdmin". Regards, CBS527Talk 17:50, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There doesn't seem to be clear consensus on whether articles previously deleted via PROD are eligible for PROD or not. But certainly AfD is a safe and reasonable choice -- thanks! Υπογράφω (talk) 17:58, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About the fact that you keep restoring the messages on my talk page when i try to remove/archive them

[edit]

Hello there, well,i came here to ask you why do you keep reverting every attempt i try at archiving/deleting the messages on my talk page. They have been there for quite a time so i dont understand why should i still have them there. Cant i just archive them? I came here to ask you this because i thought that even if i archived them, you would restore them as my "hat of shame" thing. No offense though, just asking, anyways,i will be waiting here for your answer and whether i can archive them. 178.41.190.3 (talk) 18:55, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, disruptive IPs removing recent warnings from their talk page will generally be regarded as trying to hide their activity and have the blanking reverted. If you want a clean slate, please create an account. Υπογράφω (talk) 18:57, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on John Babikian

[edit]

Hello,

I really appreciate what you're doing, your revert on the page was not necessary as sources were cited though not up to 2 citations or sources per statement.

But i intend to add more sources to support what i've written or added Conradjay (talk) 12:03, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for wanting to expand the article on John Babikian, Conradjay. But if you haven't already, please read Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living people. This is one of our most important policies, and it means that every statement about Babikian's activities must have a source, and the source must be there as soon as that statement is added to the article (not added later). I see that many of the statements you added do have sources, so I'll go ahead and remove only the ones that don't. Please feel free to add them back to the article with inline citations. Thanks! Υπογράφω (talk) 16:08, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About restoring my warnings addendum

[edit]

Looks like you kinda violated the 3RR by repeatedly restoring my messages on my talk page. Here are the messages that appeared recently on my talk: User may remove comments from their own Talk Page[edit] Policy does not prohibit users, whether registered or unregistered, from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. Please read WP:BLANKING and WP:DRRC. It serves no purpose to restore removed comments.

Users who repeatedly restore the same comment to another user's talk page may be blocked for violating the three-revert rule or harassing another user, regardless of whether the talk page is for a registered editor or for an unregistered "anonymous" editor. CBS527Talk 18:34, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

So,after you see this, please stop trying to start an revert war with me on my talk page,if you dont wanna get blocked. 178.41.190.3 (talk) 18:49, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that vandalism

[edit]

I apologize for that vandalism,i will try not to vandalize any further articles. I will just stick to reading and maybe correcting a few bugs or typos. Anyways,i hope i did not anger you by outright arguing with you when i presented that message about that policy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.41.190.3 (talk) 11:57, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, no hard feelings. I know you've made some constructive edits too, and I look forward to seeing more. Cheers! Υπογράφω (talk) 16:08, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: James Wilson (YouTube)

[edit]

Hello Υπογράφω. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of James Wilson (YouTube), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: over 3 million subscribers is a sufficient claim of significance, even though the subject might not be notable. Use WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Thank you. SoWhy 12:31, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Rao Surtan Singh

[edit]

The reason I proposed it for deletion was due to the lack of sources. Websites are not reliable sources in history-related articles. See WP:HSC for more information.Hagoromo's Susanoo (talk) 06:49, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contesting the deletion of W. Derek Russell

[edit]

Good evening. Regarding the article W. Derek Russell, it is my belief that the page should be expanded rather than deleted. I’ve already added a link to a bibliography of the man’s written work.

For over the past decade, he has produced multiple podcasts that have attracted attention from not only fans; but professionals from within the entertainment industry.

If it helps the case, Russell was cited as a source in the book Mapping Smallville. [1]. If a published text considers him noteworthy enough to cite as a reliable source, certainly the man himself is noteworthy enough to warrant an article. That’s just my humble opinion.Tr114 (talk) 04:03, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've reinstated the BLPPROD at A. K. Azad because the source added (iTunes) does not support any of the claims made in the article. It mentions no awards. It doesn't mention the supposedly award-winning film. It's just a retail opportunity. Had the source been there in the initial version I'd have nominated the article for speedy deletion as an advert (G11). The article's author is unable to tell a useful citation from a bad one (see WP:ANI#Bangladeshi editor). Please show more discernment when reviewing. Cabayi (talk) 14:45, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The first source supports the statement that he won a national film award. "“Mrittika Maya” took was announced winner for ... Best Music Director (AK Azad – jointly with Shawkat Ali Emon for “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini”)" Υπογράφω (talk) 16:53, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I missed that the first ref had changed since I first tagged the article, my apologies. Cabayi (talk) 17:22, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lerp (biology)

[edit]

You added a reference on 04 March 2018. It got removed in the next edit on 23 March. The reference looks ok to me: can you explain why it got cut, or why you didn’t re-add?

Also the 3rd “link” is to a business; reference has been there since 2009. How is that ok?

(Just curious; still learning).

I’m also wondering how a word (lerp) gets into Wiki, with a 1989 reference, but doesn’t get into any online dictionary - OED, Webster, ++. Any ideas?

And is it epographow in English? What’s that mean? MBG02 (talk) 16:33, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
