Hello AFRIKA1652. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm S0091, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism

or you can:

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Kendell Geers has been reverted.
Your edit here to Kendell Geers was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://vimeo.com/16685781) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Kendell Geers

[edit]

Hello! Do you happen to know the artist Kendell Geers, or have some connection to him? Possibly (talk) 03:57, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am a student writing a dissertation on the subject - i dont have much experience with Wikipedia, but its part of my course so very happy to learn. thank you for your corrections and suggestions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AFRIKA1652 (talkcontribs)
OK thanks. I would take it easy on that article: at 60KB it is quite bloated, and needs to be cut down significantly (for comparison, the article on Marcel Duchamp is 82kb in size). Also bear in mind that Wiki writing is different than academic writing. Wikipedia is not usually an index of every thing someone has ever done. We also tend to keep the writing as neutral as possible. Finally, be careful not to mark edits as minor as you did here (see WP:MINOREDIT), and don't forget to WP:SIGN! Thanks. Thank you very much for the pointers - Its a stiff learning curve between the different coding and the content and I am trying to learn from my mistakes. Thanks AFRIKA1652 (talk
