RE: Erika Steinbach
[edit]thank you, I was naturally suspicious as I would not think someone ranking as low as a feldwebel would obtain their own government issued house. I have always said that if something too easily fits into an agenda (not meaning you have one, but others may), you should question it and seek other sources. another thing that set me off about the statement was that Erika and her mother remained in Rumia/Rahmel even after her father was sent to the Eastern Front, if the house was government issue surely they would have moved them elsewhere, probably into a smaller house or closer to home.

[edit]Re: Campaign Against Homophobia - I didn't mean to change that one: I did Google it and found no reference with the ó. I do apologise for not checking what I was editing properly but offer my thanks in that you checked and corrected it, told me why it was wrong and assumed good faith! what's so great about Dutch weather?

Welcome!

Hi, Boyau, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. A couple of points that may be helpful:
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me or any other experience editor, and we will be happy to help you. And once again - Welcome! |

Can I ask for your translation skills please
[edit]Hi Boyau, I have been having troubles with a Polish editor, who is now insulting and personally attacking me. He has now personally attacked me here in Polish, I used an online translator and it came up with "limited essence soya bean case" as what he called me. I was wondering what exactly he says, and the overall context of what he has been saying.
thanks --Jadger 11:09, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- lol, thank you. I had no clue whether or not "limited essence soya bean case" was supposed to be an insult, perhaps he just doesn't like them. perhaps I am mistaken, but couldn't istota then be translated as untermensch? just thought that would be mighty hypocritical of him as he has called me a Nazi, now I'm less than human.
alright, thank you. So he basically said I am an "annoying, mentally challenged sub-human/less than human creature"

thanks a lot for all your help

Jaroslaw Kaczynski
[edit]Boyau, can you come and give your input on the discussion at Jaroslaw Kaczynski? We don't know whether to tag him as an LGBT person from Poland because all the evidence that he is or is not gay is in Polish! Thanks, Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:42, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- OK, well, I guess I'll leave it to you then, as I think my inability to speak Polish renders my input fairly useless. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 12:57, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Polish
[edit]Hiya. I've been seeing how active the other language LGBT WikiProjects, and I've been noticing that a lot of the users I have spoken to in these semi-active projects complain of an uphill struggle against homophobic editors, who make it very difficult to get anywhere. I was wondering what the situation is like on the Polish Wikipedia (though I can imagine). Is there any censorship, or any form of WikiProject (or just some people who work together)? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 23:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thankyou very much for your reply. After consultation with people from various wikipedias, I have decided to set up a Project on Meta to end Wikipedia-wide discrimination against LGBT people and issues. I would be very grateful if you would be willing to act as the go-between between us and the Polish wiki.
- On a more personal note, the problems you produced might be solved if you set up a WikiProject, got an assessment system going and then added the results to a Watchlist. That way even if articles are nominated for deletion, you will know about it. Also, I note with interest that articles that are well-referenced are left alone - this is probably something that I think all LGBT WikiProjects need to aim for, as I've noticed that here too. However, setting up all of this is somewhat time-consuming, are you interested in doing it? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 12:35, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the extra information you added about the Polish version of this format. I have, however, deleted 'Romania' from the list of countries that BBC Worldwide has licensed the format to. There is no Romanian version. It's possible that a similar show may have been aired there but certainly not this format. RMM77

Kampania Przeciw Homofobii image deletion
[edit]Hi, I was away from wikipedia for several months. Now I noticed a picture I uploaded to the article Kampania Przeciw Homofobii was deleted by you in Januray - as it was suspected to be unfree. I am a member of the organisation, of which this article talks about. We own this imege, it was shot on our photo-session, and we have rights to use it in any way we see fit. Could you advise me in which category should I put the photo, so it doesn't et deleted again? Thank you. Boyau (talk) 17:05, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Rather than immediately jumping to the "some other reason" option, please try to choose the correct and relevant option next time, as it tends to help resolve your issue faster.
- File:Kampania Przeciw Homofobii Ad sesssion.jpg was deleted because there was no proof that the copyright owner, Rarapi Agency/Kampania Przeciw Homofobii, chose to release this image. To verify this, the copyright holder or its agent should send the email indicated at WP:CONSENT to permissions-en@wikimedia.org quoting the specific file name. If this is verified, the image may be undeleted. Stifle (talk) 15:48, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Monitor. WikiProject Poland Newsletter: Issue 1 (April 2011)
[edit]
WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a [member link] at WikiProject Poland. • Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC) |

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II
For our freedom and yours Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members! In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!
It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland. |
