Welcome to MILHIST
[edit]Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Anotherclown (talk) 20:54, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
I was blocked for being falsely belived to be a sockpuppet but im not considering i had no idea there was another one with the same name as me we are not the same, im not a sockpuppet and i request an unblock, considering this is not my normal behavior so please revise what you do cause you might have many errors.
Accept reason:
This appears to me to be an error. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 05:28, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
.
(Checkuser requested), the claim is this user, Isaiasad2 (talk · contribs), is unrelated to Isaiasad (talk · contribs). I see no relation in the edits and plausibly, the blocking admin went on the username similarity only. Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Isaiasad/Archive shows a prior checkuser. --Yamla (talk) 00:23, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm also curious. I don't see any similarities in the edit patterns, though it would be hard to tell, since this particular account has no article space edits whatsoever. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 00:53, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- I've removed the checkuser request, it's not possible here. Isaiasad (talk · contribs) is stale, there was no prior CheckUser, and CUs will not connect an account to an IP address. You'll have to ask Ks0stm why they blocked this account. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 02:09, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
I was falsely blamed yet again by the same User, again im not a sockpuppet so please stop making guesses just cause i have the same name as the other one and try to investigate right next time, another reason why its false its because i barely created my account just 1 week ago yet these investigations have shown to have gone since october so i don't know why blame me for this i request an unblock...again.
Decline reason:
I have seen behavioural evidence which alone would be enough to persuade me of sockpuppetry, and when we add to that technical evidence from a CheckUser, it is certain beyond all reasonable doubt. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:51, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Block message:
I have been very falsely blamed by a checkuser who guessed by my username for me to be a sockpuppet, im not a sockpuppet, i barely created my account and these checkusers are simply guessing, i request this false autoblock to be lifted.
- Blocking administrator: not provided (talk • blocks)
Decline reason: The Checkuser check was *not* just guessing based on your username, it was based on actual technical evidence connecting the two accounts. I also agree with JamesBWatson, above, that the behavioural evidence is compelling too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 08:41, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

March Madness 2017
[edit]G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.
For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:23, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
