Welcome

[edit]

Hello, JaySorrels, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then get me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that if more than one person is using this account to edit, then unfortunately it will be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:09, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Frank PR logo.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Frank PR logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:44, 8 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ╟─TreasuryTagprorogation─╢ 17:44, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:FrankLogo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:FrankLogo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:07, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Andrew Bloch for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Andrew Bloch is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Andrew_Bloch_(2nd_nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Reichsfürst (talk) 16:56, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering why you recreated an article that was deleted only one month ago. The discussion found that the subject and his company are not notable. It doesn't matter how you rewrite it. The problem lies with the notability of the subject, and not how the article was written. Fly by Night (talk) 17:03, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would respectfully dispute the finality of the discussion. The administrator who performed the deletion suggested that if it was redrafted to be more clearly in line with the house style and policy it could be restored. I would also assert that notability is relative. Applying a very strict scientific, world historical standard would probably remove a very high percentage of biographical wikipedia entries. The UK marketing and PR industry is a major employer and often seen as a rare area of comparative advantage for the nation as a whole. A brief, modest biographical entry for a founder and manager of a major firm within that industry who has been serially cited by the independent trade publication of record for an entire industry surely should not be prevented from inclusion. The only grounds for doing so would be to exclude from notability any figures from private industry primarily known amongst a specific geography or professional peer group. This is a question of ethics, or more specifically a judgement of a political and moral nature. I would respectfully assert that the free speech and enquiry at the heart of wikipedia means that a manner of inclusion can be found. Notability should not be confined to inventors of vaccines, academics, the jet engine and political figures in a growing service based economy. I hope this argument makes some sense. It is made with the greatest respect for the community and its aims.--JaySorrels (talk) 19:20, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:JaySorrels, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Fly by Night (talk) 16:34, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NVA Entertainment until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Rathfelder (talk) 10:56, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Chris Nathaniel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article, content contributed by SPAs. Cites are to tangential and promotional mentions of subject. The one thing that comes up in a WP:BEFORE is a murder charge he was cleared of - not notability for Wikipedia purposes under BLP rules.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
