[edit]Hello. I'm in agreement with the recent revert you made to Fairy tale}}. Not sure if you already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Best regards, Funpika 23:21, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Railpage and DOTARS
[edit]Federal and State government departments have used Railpage as a source before. Most notably, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has used some accident images from the gallery taken by railfans who were on the scene long before accident investigators. It has also been used as a secondary source by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Dbromage 02:28, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, David. I had a suspicion in the back of mind that this was the case, but wasn't completely sure. In any case, I think the Gheringhap loop report is definitely significant enough to be noted in the article. Johnmc 02:38, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Image copyright problem with Image:1982 Commonwealth Games logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:1982 Commonwealth Games logo.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Invitation on Gay and Alternative lifestyle in Cloncurry
[edit]Hello Johnmc!!. I'm looking to expand the Wikipedia article on Cloncurry, Queensland, with a gay and transgender section. As you would know, Cloncurry has a annual transgender festive there, (I believe you help organize it), so I'm looking for sources of verifiable information on the festival.THANKS!!!Tezzas Ghost (talk) 23:09, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Tezza (or whoever you are - you know the "real" tezza is unbanned, don't you?), I really couldn't give a rats. If you want to turn the Failpage article into your own personal statement, then go your hardest. I'm just about sick of online forums in general, and how GROWN ADULTS behave like f*cking children with their own agendas. Actually, that's an insult to children. Children eventually give up. Do as you will, mate. Johnmc (talk) 02:50, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your report on 121.208.112.141 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and you are encouraged to revert, warn and report inappropriate conduct. I have however declined to act on this report for the following reason:
Report was good at the time, but is now stale. (4 hours since last edit) Re-report if this user resumes vandalising.
The Guide to administrator intervention against vandalism might be a helpful read if you wish to improve your future reports. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Cheers! -- lucasbfr talk 14:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Mountain renaming
[edit]Hi! I see you are changing "Mt" --> "Mount" per the WP:MOUNTAINS naming convention. That is a good thing and I support it. However, I am not so sure I agree with this edit here. You have renamed the title of an external article used in a reference. If you look at the cited article, it clearly used "Mt" not "Mount". My personal opinion is that we should be true to the source we are citing and use the title they have used, not "correct" it according to our preferences, as per direct quotes. I am not sure if the Wikiproject provides any guidance as to this matter. Cheers, Mattinbgn\talk 08:49, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hey, thanks for keeping the Unreferenced BLP list up to date, but do you think you could keep a higher bar before crossing articles off that list? I wouldn't call John Elferink adequately referenced, even though it now has a couple of references, most of the information in the article is not. Rebecca (talk) 12:58, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
- I don't blame you at all for wanting to knock a few more names off the list - the whole situation's a right mess! It's just that if we're going to go to the trouble of actually getting these articles in order, it's probably worth making sure everyone takes the bit more time to get them done thoroughly.
