Heathrow Stations Image
[edit]Yeah I wasn't sure really about which tag to use. As I scanned the tube map and focused in on specific stations - see examples such as Uxbridge tube station - I thought that would constitute that it was created by me but wasn't entirely sure. Which tag do you suggest? I'll contact the administrator that helped me out with some other image problems a short while back and see what he says as well.Thanks for spotting it and helping me out a bit. Greaterlondoner
- In all honesty I understand what you think but I thought that people might like to see what each station looked like on the map and see the name in the London Underground font. As yet I have received no other comments about them but have sent a message to User:Rbrwr asking him what he thinks the best way to handle the situation is. Greaterlondoner
Parks Police
[edit]Hello there, Dribble999 here. Can you look at Wandsworth Parks Police and look at the editing done on the 31/1/06 by anon editor. Anon editor suggests the constables of this borough police force are not able to enforce criminal law etc. Do you have any knowledge re these forces, you being in London. We don't have anything similar up here. As I understood it, constables of that little force were full constables on park land. Can you enlighten me or rectify page. Thanks. Dribble999 01:48, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Haven't a clue I'm afraid. I've been fortunate enough not to work in an area that has them - though the rumours I hear range from mediocre to disturbing. Sapient 21:26, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

SOCAPA
[edit]You modified the article for PACE, Stating that socapa replaced thw power of arrest for arrestable offences with agneral power of arrset, whoich is true, but it should be noted that the powers reguires a necessity test to be passed. your edit also does not take account of the rushed and controversial nature of SOCAPA,which introduces the power to hold incomunicado for all indictable offences. The act modified the powers of arrst from 1st of january 2006, at which time most police forces were not trained on their new powers.Dolive21 20:05, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Police/Law Wiki
[edit]Hi Sapient, I was wondering if you might be interested in the idea of creating an entirely police and law based Wiki, with a UK theme. If you are interested, and wouldn't mind taking a look at my ideas, just use my talk page! Thanks, --Chachu207 17:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Harry Stanley
[edit]Hello Sapient. After a bit of advice re editing of controversial pages. If you look at the Harry Stanley page you will see a bit of angoing discussion with myself and another which is getting a bit silly. What is the protocol regarding this situation and the others editing which I think is highly POV. Any advice / input would be greatly appreciated. Dibble999 17:23, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Invasionusa.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Invasionusa.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Arrse.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Arrse.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris B • talk 21:31, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
London Meetup - January 12, 2008
[edit]Hi! There's going to be a London Wikipedia Meetup coming Saturday January 12, 2008. If you are interested in coming along take part in the discussion over at Wikipedia:Meetup/London7. The discussion is going on until tomorrow evening and the official location and time will be published at the same page late Thursday or early Friday. Hope to see you Saturday, Poeloq (talk) 03:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Murder of Keith Blakelock, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 02:59, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Courts of jurisdiction for drug misuse?

Invitation to Wikipedia meetup in London
[edit]Date: 13:00 onwards, Sunday 10 August 2008
Venue: Penderel's Oak pub, Holborn WC1 map
More information: Wikipedia:Meetup/London 12
Hello,
I noticed that you have listed yourself as a Wikipedian in London, so I thought you might like to come to one of our monthly social meetups. The next one is going to be on Sunday 10 August, which might well be rather short notice, but if you can't come this time, we try to have one every second Sunday of the month.
If you haven't been before, these meetups are mainly casual social events for Wikipedia enthusiasts in which we chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy. It's a great way to meet some very keen Wikipedians, but we'd also love for you to come along if you're interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, or other collaborative wiki projects too.
The location is a pub that is quite quiet and family friendly on a Sunday lunchtime, so hopefully younger Wikipedians will also feel welcome and safe. Alcohol consumption is certainly not required!
Although the meetups are popular, many UK-based editors still don't know about them. It would be great to welcome some fresh faces, so I hope you can come along.
Yours,
James F. (talk) 09:27, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Please forgive the slightly impersonal mass-invite!
London Wikimedia Fundraiser
[edit]Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.
Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 23:51, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
The Contribution Team cordially invites you to Imperial College London
For our first official recruitment drive! Starting on Wednesday the 9th of February at 12:30pm. We would love to have you! |
All Hail The Muffin Nor does it taste nice... 10:45, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
The article Michael Fuller has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Dubious notability and no sources.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kurepalaku (talk) 11:59, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
