Bentong and I (at the minimum) will be meeting on June 23-24. So I guess this is the first Cebu Wikipedia Meet-up. We chose that date since that is the First Philippine Open Source Summit. Both of us are planning to attend the summit. And with these combination of motivators, perhaps more of you guys would be interested to fly to Cebu :)

In any case, we were hoping to propose to the organizers that we represent the Philippine Wikipedia Community in the summit. We are pretty much open culture folks after all. We would like to align this to the community. Is this OK with all of you guys? We think this would be a good way to get more people to be part of the community.

Here's the formal email I will send to the organizer. I already talked with him, and he seems interested about the proposal.

We at BNEF-IT (Bacolod's version of Cebu's CEDF-IT) received the same invite from the organizers today. I'm planning to be there. =) btw, the invite stated that they "are currently designing the 50 sqm Pavilion Booth for all Local Implementing Partners, ICT Council, and Open Source organizations. An Invitation from the Philippine Wikipedia Community

The Philippine Wikipedia Community will be holding its 1st Meet-up in Cebu City (the fourth one in the Philippines) on June 23-24, 2008. This coincides with the first Philippine Open Source Summit, also to be held in Cebu. The Philippine Wikipedia Community is an Implementing Partner of the Open Source Summit. We invite you to join us in this event. If you are in the IT or IT-enabled services industry, this would be a great opportunity to meet people from the 4th best outsourcing city in the world. This is also a good excuse to visit our beautiful beaches :)

Hotels for out-of-towners

Video cam

Physical meetup still a success(?)

If User:Kguirnela and User:Jojit_fb discussed Wikipedia matters at POSS, then it is technically a meetup.(?) If so, the meetup was a success even if the original 'official delegates' and the local cebuano Wikipedians didn't make it. Jordz (talk) 10:06, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I was there
