[edit]Most likely related to Proto-Slavic *oriti (“to drag down?”), whence разори́ть (razorítʹ). Not related to Latvian er̃rīgs (“angry, gloomy”), Latin errō (“I wander, I get lost, I err”), Old High German irri (“confused”) or Russian ёрш (jorš).
